Mallorca: Open Water Diver Course

A very good diving center. Nice pro and nice team. Nice organization on the boat. Center with shower and coffee/tea. Various sites. I did about 10 dives with this center, everything was perfect; Welcoming, Service, follow-up and good mood. Go ahead with your eyes closed... I'll go back for sure...thanks to the whole big blue team!!

We joined Big Blue Diving for an SSI scuba course and it completely ruined our holiday. Our instructor, Nicholas, was unprofessional, unsupportive, and lacked basic communication skills. • Poor communication: His English was weak, making it hard to understand essential safety instructions. We often felt unsafe and confused. • Zero support for beginners: No encouragement at all; he even told me I “shouldn’t take the course” because I was afraid of diving in the sea — extremely discouraging for first-time divers. • Neglect underwater: No guidance on posture or technique, didn’t point out any marine life, and even left my boyfriend unattended when he snorkeled after his dive. • Safety & equipment issues: We weren’t given long-sleeve wetsuits (ended up with scratches) and were poorly briefed on preparations and post-dive rules (like flying restrictions). • Overall impact: The experience was so negative I now never want to dive again. Other instructors we saw (Ruben, Nici, Anastasia) were professional and kind — but sadly, we were not assigned to them. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Big Blue Diving and urge others to look elsewhere for their safety and enjoyment.

Last week, we had an amazing time diving in Mallorca with Big Blue Diving. Our instructor, Torsten, learned us the knowhow and skills required to become an open water diver in a very patient and safety-oriented fashion. We can only recommend Big Blue Diving to other people looking for their first diving experiences!! Big shoutout to the rest of the crew who helped us a lot as well!

We did our Open Water certification at Big Blue Diving and were very happy with everything. The instructor took his time, we felt safe and had amazing dives. We're actually going back today to get some more practice. Highly recommended!

We chose our summer vacation based on the reviews of diving schools - Big Blue Diving in Mallorca was the first point of contact. On our request for courses also for children I received a super friendly email with suggestions and also the appropriate diving program for me (OWD). There we did nails with heads and booked course and boat dives. Even the hotel recommendation we followed and booked right next door. My daughter (13) was able to make her OWD certificate with very great diving instructors and super supervision. The base planned everything so that we could do the boat dives together - that was a great experience. We have seen many different fish and a beautiful underwater world, some octopuses but also barracudas and even a stingray. Unfortunately it no longer worked that my youngest son (9) could do the bubblemaker course, the decision came too spontaneously. All in all, the holiday in Mallorca was a dream, thanks in large part to the lovely team of Big Blue Diving!!

My best friend, his father, and I all got certified effortlessly and smoothly thanks to our amazing instructor Antonia (Toni). 10/10 experience/views 100% recommend this dive shop!

Only recommended! It was the best decision to do our Open Water Diver course with Big Blue Diving. The owners and instructors are super friendly, helpful and excited to pass on their love of diving.

My son and I took the PADI Open Water diver course at the beginning of April with Big Blue Diving. We had a fantastic time. Being Spring the water was cool but we were given all the kit we needed, so it was not a problem. The course was challenging at times and largely based on safety procedures, rather than fun, fun, fun but that was fine as the whole point was to make us safe divers. Ursula, Udo and the rest of the team were extremely helpful and made the dives very enjoyable as well - we saw two octopus on the first day alone. More importantly to me, as a novice diver, they were extremely well organised and above all safe. Thanks for a great few days diving.

Dear Big Blue Diving Team, Many thanks for the great diving experience with you! From the first contact everything went great, quick response, always professional, prompt and reliable. This great impression continued on site - we had booked various courses (including OWD) and always felt very well looked after - especially the OWD with Ursi, who with the patience of an angel was able to teach even complete beginners everything important in a wonderfully relaxed manner and convey the material in a way that was easy to understand. We will definitely be back and are already looking forward to our next diving adventure with you! 😃🤿
