Our journey begins at Plaza Enrique García-Herrera, a picturesque square that captures the essence of Málaga’s historic charm. Here, your guide will introduce themselves and provide an engaging overview of the tour, setting the stage for a day filled with discovery and delicious flavors.
Next, we’ll stroll to the Mercado Central de Atarazanas, a bustling market housed in a stunning 19th-century building with a rich history dating back to the Moorish era. This vibrant market is a feast for the senses, offering an array of fresh produce, seafood, meats, and local specialties.
From the market, we’ll make our way to the Santa Iglesia Catedral Basílica de la Encarnación de Málaga, often referred to as La Manquita (the one-armed lady) due to its unfinished second tower. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Ricardo was super knowledgable, very friendly and made us feel at ease from the start. We had some really delicious food and learned a lot about Malaga. Would HIGHLY recommend this tour at the start of your stay because you get to know the best local places!
Great food tour. Riccardo was a superb host. Visited family-owned businesses and had a selection of local foods. 3.5 hours seems a long time but it didnt feel like that.

We had a fantastic start to our Malaga trip. We did a Malaga food tour. We had a fantastic guide called Sebastian, who was knowledgeable about the area. We were a small group of only 4. The conversation flowed throughout and we enjoyed all the places we visited and even went back again later in our trip. We had a great tour. Jose is a fantastic guide and very knowledgeable about the city. This is our first time in Malaga so it was good to be shown around by someone who knows the city so well. I would highly recommend this tour if you are in Malaga for the first time. He took us to some very authentic places on the tour. We particularly enjoyed the market with the tasting of the olive oils and the olives. We finished the tour with a gelato, from the shop Jose went to as a child and still goes to now. We will be going back there as the gelato was delicious 😋
