Although it was almost unbearably HOT, our tour guide, Greg, from Adventure Sightseeing, was funny, friendly, knowledgeable, and was a great communicator. It wasn't the best season to view the beautiful blooming flowers but it was still beautiful in other ways. Full of history, this is a great tour and we highly recommend it! (Lunch was available at a little cafe' onsite and it has a great selection at reasonable prices)
Tour was nice esp of the house. In July the gardens are not what I imagined. I expected beautiful flowers everywhere and they were only in the front. If visiting in the summer being big spray and a fan because it is very hot. The tram ride wasn’t much. A few birds and some well hidden alligators. I would skip it. Although it did go past the slave quarters but we couldn’t get out to look. It’s a long walk to see them once the tram returns to its start. House was interesting and a lot of historical information given. The guides are nice. There is a food stand available. The good thing was the bathrooms were air conditioned.
Beautiful place to explore and reflect.
Greg was helpful and a great narrator for the trip to Magnolia Plantation. We liked the variety of plantation and swamp components of the tour. The grounds were magnificent and we had a delicious lunch at the outdoor restaurant. Bring mosquito spray!!
Wonderful experience. Beautiful property. Hours there was well spent. Scott (our tour guide was a wealth of information). We did not have a chance to do the freedom walk or the river tour but we would love to return and do it. The day that we were there was saturated with mosquitoes. I recommend bringing some repellent or be prepared to pay about $10 to buy 3 oz at facility
A good idea to bring bug spray, sun screen and water if it is warm out. You essentially are in a tropical environment it will be hotter and more humid than you think.
This was such a fantastic experience. Greg is a wonderful guide/narrator. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The plantation itself is beautiful and so interesting historically. Allen took us on a wonderful, informative tour of the house.
Great time. Hot and humid but had a great time. Wear good walking shoes and a hat and u will be good.
Our family had such a lovely time. John from Galway who was the slavery to freedom tour guide was such a gem!! You can see his passion in what he does and is very informative of what happened on the grounds.
The plantation grounds were beautiful. The house tour was very interesting. The staff was very knowledgable and kind.
