Near a small village called Rose, there are three most impressive Submarine Tunnels which were built by the Yugoslav Army. The outside of the opening is designed and covered by fake rocks so they would not be invisible to satellites or spy planes.
When we say this tunnel is the best hidden sight in Montenegro, we mean it literally. Built during the 1970s by the Yugoslav Navy, this tunnel was designed to stealthily host submarines and small ships. The entrance features a peculiar construction covered with fake rocks designed to make the spot invisible to unsuspecting eyes.
The tunnel is a part of a fascinating and little-known series of similar tunnels and stealth locations built by the Yugoslav Army along the coasts of Montenegro and Croatia. Two smaller tunnels are located nearby, but the one near Rose is the largest, the most interesting to explore, and actually the only one that used to host submarines.

The Mamula Fortress was built in 1853. At this time, Montenegro was under Austro-Hungarian rule. The fortress is named after the Austro-Hungarian general, Lazarus von Mamula. who commissioned the construction of the building. Mamula lays between two other fortifications from the same period – fort Arza, Luštica and Cape Ostro on the opposite side.
The spot was chosen for its strategic position at the very entrance to the bay, but the story of Mamula didn’t end there. During both world wars, it was used as a prison due to its isolated position. The location gained a notorious reputation during World World 2, when the army of Benito Mussolini turned it into a concentration camp. Stories of unspeakable horrors can still be heard today.
After this chapter in its history, the island and the fortification remained deserted for many years. Nowadays, Mamula is set to become a tourist resort; a project met with an ambiguous response from the locals due to the gloomy history of the place.

The Blue Cave is the largest of many sea caves on Lustica Peninsula. It’s called the Blue Cave because the way the light hits the sandy bottom and reflects up through the water makes the whole cave look blue.
It’s very beautiful and it’s a lucky quirk because almost all of the coast here is rocky, not sandy. You can see the blue light shining out of the cave when you approach, but to really see it you’ve got to go inside and get underwater.
Don’t forget your snorkel or goggles when you come here!

Our Lady of the Rocks is one of two gorgeous islands in the Kotor bay which are situated in the sea across Perast. The other island is the Island Sveti Djordje. Our Lady of the Rocks is an artificial island, which according to the stories was made by the seaman from Perast and Kotor, who on their big sail boats brought big stones. There is a church and according to a legend, a fisherman from Perast, after a shipwreck near the island, have found an icon of the Holy Mother of God with the Christ on a sea rock, so as the customs say they vowed to build a church on the island. They have built the church in 1630. As the island had to be maintained, the seaman continued to bring the stones, so that tradition is alive even today. Entrance to the church is free and if you would like to enter the museum - cost per ticket is 2 euros.

Good experience
We had an amazing experience from start to finish! The tour was absolutely beautiful, with stunning views, crystal-clear water and incredible places to visit. Everything was perfectly organized, and Jelena was so kind, friendly and helpful throughout the whole experience. She made us feel very welcome and made sure everything went smoothly.
We especially loved the boat ride, the Blue Cave and the beautiful views of the Bay of Kotor. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Highly recommended — we would happily do this tour again! ❤️

Uncomfortable experience
The tour is nice and the bay is a must to see but unfortunately our boat was not suitable at all for this kind of tour. 3 hours under the sun without shadow and the boat was too small and uncomfortable for such a long time and waves. We were supposed to have a swim but in the reality it did not happen and the info provided were very small and basic.

AMAZING!
The team was incredibly kind. A special thank you to Jelena for her warm hospitality. Our guide Igor was fantastic. He made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the tour and enriched the experience with fascinating stories about Montenegro's history. He is an excellent captain who skillfully avoided the waves whenever possible, making the ride smooth so that nobody felt seasick.
We would definitely do this again and highly recommend it!

WOW😍🐬
We had an amazing experience on the boat. The driver Igor was so nice and considerate of all the people in the boat. We even saw dolphins and they stoped the boat so we could watch them. I would definitely recommend booking this tour and the driver. 100/10 experience!

Grear experience!
We booked a private trip for two people (four on boat - with the Captain and his assistant) and it was an amazing experience. The staff picked us up at the dork and communication is very smooth. We customized the trip and booked for four hours. We visited many places and swam in the blue cave area and also an amazing beach. Our Captain Danilo was amazing. He has great skills and our ride was not bumpy at all, smooth on the sea. He introduced us on all the sites and answered all our questions patiently along the way. He got an amazing playlist which we enjoyed a lot along the four hours. Danilo and his assistant are both super kind. Highly recommend!

Private Tour Boka Bay
Thankfully while walking through the old city, Kristian hdd handed out a brochure and invited us to do a tour. I took it and said I would review it. We still hadn't decided on a plan but Kristian was responsive at the ninth hour and very late at night. I decided to do a private tour so we could manage the time and be flexible.
We were provided information on the sites as we traveled, fun music was played which provided the right vibe.
I will say only complaint the private tour is slightly pricey and I think more could be provided at that cost, at least a stop to Perast especially since we had no interest in swimming for 30 mins. in the blue cave.
At the start of the morning, it can be chilly so keep that in mind. Bring appropriate clothing. Once the sun comes out, the water, views and experience is absolutely stunning and will feel magical.
