Meeting point is front of Kiasma museum, address: Mannerheiminaukio 1H (searchable on google maps). It is 500 meters from Helsinki Central Railway station. Kindly be on time at the meeting point. The drive to the national park takes 1 hour and 20 minutes, including a brief bathroom break.
Once we have arrived at Liesjärvi National Park, we begin our peaceful hike into the forest and amongst the lakes. As we follow our guide along the pristine trail, we will make our way to a scenic lunch spot by the lake. Time to start the fire and begin the cooking! Our lunch break is in the perfect area for scenic photo opportunities, exploring the beautiful surroundings and enjoying the tranquillity of the Taiga forest. After lunch, we will continue to explore the natural beauty of Liesjärvi while walking for roughly one hour making our way back to the starting point. We will drop you off in central Helsinki at 4 P.M. feeling refreshed and fully charged from this wonderful nature experience. --- You spend around 4.5 hours in the national park. (Total walking distance is approx. 4,5-5km.). Gorgeous forest walk led by terrific friendly knowledgeable guide and driver , with delicious salmon or mushroom soup and fixings. SO worth while. Be able to walk uneven paths with a positive attitude.

I loved this tour because it took us to a peaceful national park outside Helsinki, introduced us to Finnish culture and the joy of foraging in a beautiful forest. We enjoyed our berries and mushrooms at lunch. It was perfectly paced for exploring, foraging, and conversation. The guides were informative and welcoming. I highly recommend any tours offered by Taiga Times and I personally enjoyed the "Magical Taiga Forest Hike" and "Archipelago Excursion".

This hike was more like a walk through the forest, which was exactly what I was looking for. Emma was very knowledgeable and you could tell she loves being in the forest. This was a great activity to do as a solo traveler.

What a great experience, foraging for porchini and Chanterelles mushrooms, as well as blue berries and the occasional ripe elderberries. Our guide cooked us a fantastic traditional salmon soup which we ate next to a lake. She was very knowledgeable and fun to spend time with. We came back with great memories and amazing photos from the forest. Highly recommended

A wonderful day in Finland’s nature setting. Enjoyed the hike, the identification of various mushrooms, fungi/ lichen and trees. The soup and rye bread with dessert and blueberry juice- mmm good! The guide (Mari if I have that correct) did a wonderful job….

A magnificent experience in the heart of the Finnish taiga with a breathtaking view of the Baltic Sea. The guide was magnificent and very friendly; they gave us a lot of information about the history of Porkkalaniemi and about Finnish flora and fauna. The lunch based on specialties from Karelia, Sweden, and Finland was exquisite.
