Madeira Grand Experience by Tukxi, Private Tour

We did a 6 hour tuk-tuk tour. We visited Nun's Valley, viewing it from above, then going down into the valley to see it from the floor up. We loved this, and my wife and I enjoyed a glass of chestnut liqueur which we didn't find anywhere else in our trip. After that we visited Pico de Arieiro, the third highest mountain on Madeira. This was spectacular. It's a long climb up in a tuk-tuk, but much more fun than in a car. Looking out over fields of clouds was an amazing experience. A highlight of our holiday. After that we did a bit of exploring in Funchal on our way back to our hotel. You don't get to see as much of the island in a tuk-tuk as you would in a car, but it's SO much more pleasurable. Our guide, Tiago Jesus, was excellent, highly knowledgable, and happy to take us wherever we wanted. This cost twice as much as the 90 minutes city tour, but was four times longer -- you know it makes sense!!! We will definitely book again if we ever return to Madeira, to explore different parts of the island.

We took the Tuk Tuk tour in Madeira and it was fantastic. It’s a great way to see the highlights of the city and learn about its history. John was our guide and did an outstanding job. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and fun. And I had injured my knee and he helped me in and out of the Tuk. We were never rushed so we had long stops to make sure we saw everything. Also took us to a bakery that makes this wonderful dessert. Can’t remember the name but this place makes the original. I would definitely ask for John if I was going on the tour

This was a great way to tour around Funchal area on a beautiful sunny day. Our driver/guide John was really good and helped us get a feel for the area. We felt safe & everything went well capping off the tour by dropping us at the vintage room for a Madeira tasting. Great day!
