Tour was interesting and provided lots of great information. It’s not a ghost tour, so keep that in mind, but it gives excellent history of Dublin and some of the bloody history. Rob was an excellent tour guide.

This is a 2-hour walking tour where we explore the lesser-known streets of the old city centre whilst describing the more gruesome parts of the history of Dublin. On this Macabre tour you will discover a more sinister side to the history of our city and hear stories of torture, executions and serial killers. From the heart of the city outside the GPO we head west through the previous Viking and medieval areas of the north inner city before crossing the river and finishing in one of the oldest parts of the city beside Christchurch and Temple Bar.
From the operator’s live schedule on Viator, checked Oct 13.
We meet beside the Spire, the 120 metre sculpture in the centre of Dublin.
We view the statue and hear the story of the Death of Cuchulainn.
We hear stories of Victorian-era grave robbers and the wedding venue of Arthur Guinness.
Outside the old fruit and vegetable market we describe the history of the Vikings in this area and we hear about some of the gorier aspects of Viking ritual!
We describe the end for the soldier devoured by the man-eating rats.
We see the quarantine cages at the old city walls from the Black Death.
We tell the tale of an infamous brothel keeper and her death by fire at the stake.
We learn about the mummified corpses in the cellar and the legless serial killer.

Martin was a great tour guide. We all had a lot of fun. There was a lot of Irish humor.
We had an absolutly wonderful Tour with the lovely Jack Redmond, who was very knowledgable and fun. The Tour was very interesting, unique and showed us, who barely knew anything about Dublin at all, a fascinating side of the City with many historical facts and wonderfully spooky anecdotes! Highly recommend the Tour and Jack as a guide!
This tour took us places we’d not seen anywhere else. And We LOVED Rob! He was an amazing tour guide…. Very informative, funny and engaging.
We paid in advance for the ghostly and macabre tour, and were met by a freindly guide at the spire. Rob showed us around several areas on the North side of Dublin, stopping at multiple interesting points of interest. It was a good tour overall, and didn’t overlap with a previous walking tour content of the city however the guide ‘Rob’ was not as engaging as others had been. We felt that the route was quite unusual, almost like we were being led around a run down area of the city with stories made to fit.
Peter was a fantastic guide for our macabre tour of Dublin! He was so animated, personable and knowledgeable. Whatever question was asked of him, he was able to answer with great authority. It is clear that he loves Dublin, its history and the people visiting. Thank you Peter!
Peter is a very engaging man who has an ability to inform in a relaxed and interactive manner. The walk is well planned and the history and mythology is revealed in a planned and structured manner. A very engaging walk and experience.
Our guide (Rob) did such a great job! He was so friendly and funny and he explained everything very good. I would highly recommend the tour for anybody who is interested in the darker parts of the Irish history. Rob, I hope your renovations on your house are going as planned! Wish you the best :P
The Tour guide (Rob) was super friendly and he explained everything amazingly. He was also really funny, which made the experience better.
Hi there, Thanks for joining our evening tour to explore the darker, ghostly and bloody parts of our history. I am delighted that you enjoyed the experience with Rob. Best regards, Peter
Peter was a fantastic tour guide and story teller, I would 100% recommended this tour if you are visiting Dublin as you learn a lot about the city and its history over the 2 hours. Peter made you feel welcoming, and was very knowledgeable about the city meaning he was happy to answer any questions you had. The tour was very informative and the gruesome and creepy stories and tales were fascinating to learn about. Definitely worth the price! 😊
Hi Charlotte, Thanks a lot for joining me on tour. It was a pleasure to share some of the more bloody, ghostly and darker parts of our history and to show you some of the lesser known parts of Dublin that you might not find on your own. I wrote the tour with that in mind so I am delighted that you enjoyed it. Best regards, Peter
