Itinerary
120 min
Head north along the pristine western coast of Oahu to look for dolphins, whales (when in season), flying fish, green sea turtles and more. When your captain locates a pod of dolphins or whales, your boat stops to allow you to get an excellent view of the mighty mammals from the spacious deck. Afterward, your captain steers the boat into a special spot for snorkeling. Put on the provided gear and receive detailed safety and snorkeling instruction. Then hop in the water to marvel at colorful corals and a multitude of fish. Enjoy an hour of snorkeling in the clear tropical waters, with guides available to assist you with fish identification.
Back on the boat, you can rinse off in one of the boat’s six warm, freshwater showers. Two changing rooms and restrooms are also available. A beautiful Hawaiian, Luau style Buffet and drinks are served! Please enjoy a scrumptious meal and look over the pictures our professional photographer on board took during your snorkel session and boat cruise.

Cool chill vibes, nice crew
Very laid back relaxing experience not too grouted, great staff, not a lot of fish to see but we did see the dolphins which were abundant. I recommend it just for the chill. I suggest going without expecting to see much in regards to fish. Not shallow enough really to snorkel.

Incompetency and lack of empathy when it counted most
First off, I would have hoped you would have thought to not send out the text to fill out a survey given what took place today. During today’s snorkel tour, one of the guests on your boat had a medical emergency and required immediate medical attention. A member of my family who is a registered nurse was the only person competent in providing CPR and operating the AED. From my observation the crew was not knowledgeable in any sort of first response aid. One of the crew members was heard saying they didn’t know how to use the AED nor did anyone know how to do CPR. My family member who again is a registered nurse was the only one who knew what to do. The crew was panicked. When we got back to the dock and the EMTs were able to take over the owner came on the boat and was more concerned about not wasting the food they had made and being able to go out on the sunset cruise later that night. The owner also addressed the guests saying this has happened before a long while ago and then offered the guests to partake in dinner. There was no compassion for all the guests including young children that just witnessed what is assumed to be a death of one of the guests and a grieving daughter who witnessed this. This owner was more concerned about business than showing empathy. Emergencies happen when you least expect it and the captain and crew should be competent to handle these situations. It’s a physical activity and regardless of the waivers we all sign there is an expectation that the crew is prepared and able to care for the guests when these situations happen. On a perfect day when all goes right I’m sure the reviews would be overwhelmingly positive but when things don’t go well is when we expect those who are responsible for our wellbeing to shine, and Ocean Joy Cruises fell very short. I encourage you all to retake any required certifications to be ready when this ever happens again. Do it for your guests who deserve it.

Best snorkeling trip in Oahu!
Was absolutely fantastic! Swam with a turtle, saw Spinner dolphin and Pygmy killer whales. The food was also delicious!
Operator response
Spinners and pygmy killer whales on the same run is a rare pairing out there, and swimming alongside a honu on top of it makes for a strong morning. Glad the meal held up its end too — our galley works hard at that. Mahalo for coming out with us; the sunset sail is worth a look next time you're on Oʻahu.

What a fantastic day with awesome memories
Fantastic day on the water
The three crew members were outstanding, so happy and helpful.
The food were amazing, so tender and tasteful.
Saw dolphins, snorkeling with reef fish and saw a sea turtle.
We both enjoyed our time onboard so much and would highly recommend it.
And went home with a great photo package.
Will be doing it again next time in Hawaii
Operator response
Three crew who are genuinely happy to be out there changes the whole day, and ours will be glad you noticed. Dolphins, reef fish and a sea turtle in one morning, with a meal that held its own alongside them — that's the Waiʻanae coast handing you a good one. Mahalo all the way to Auckland, and come sail with us again next Hawaiʻi trip.

Ocean Joy morning cruise
Captain Garrett and his crew did an awesome job finding dolphins, turtles, fish, squid and all sorts of marine life. The trip was one of the best snorkeling trips we have ever been on.
Operator response
Squid alongside the dolphins and turtles is an unusual bonus even for our crew, so that was a good morning to be out. Captain Garrett has a real feel for where this coast is holding life on any given day. Mahalo, and come sail with us again.

Photography and experience was amazing
So our first excursion got canceled the day before we are suppose to go, and a friend of ours said to check out this company that docks at the same location. With a hope and prayer we were able to book within the hour of finding out about our cancelation.
The day came and the whole crew went out of their way to welcome us, on our way to location we were able to see dolphins which they guarantee when you book. Once we got to location we saw so many fish and got to take pictures with the cameraman Adam, it was an absolute dream to see so many fish, a black tip reef shark and my wife’s favorite sea turtles.
After an hour or so of snorkeling we were treated to a delicious Hawaiian buffet. And I highly recommend you purchase the picture package the pictures came out perfect and at such an unbeatable price! Usually photos from these excursions aren’t great, but as a photographer my self I was skeptical…but Adam crushed it!! So glad we did it.
Next time we’re in oahu we will for sure book this again. Until next time, Mahalo.
Operator response
Booking within the hour of a cancelled plan and having it turn into a black tip reef shark, a wall of fish, and your wife's honu — that's a good save. Adam will be glad his shots did the day justice; a skeptical photographer is a hard crowd. Mahalo for taking a chance on us, and the sunset sail is worth a second trip whenever you're back on Oʻahu.

A memorable family adventure!
The crew was exceptional, Mani, Jamie, Caleb and Keanne! We saw beautiful wildlife with a crew that has a sense of humor. The whole family loved the snorkeling and the wonderful buffet! Thank you!
Operator response
Mani, Jamie, Caleb and Keanne are a fun crew to draw, and they'll be glad the humor landed alongside the wildlife. A whole family happy in the water and then at the buffet is about as good as a morning gets out here. Mahalo, Jenny, and come sail with us again.

A must do activity when in Oahu.
This was a great event. It started off with us sailing out to an area where we were able to see spinner dolphins in their natural habitat, with a number of them swimming by within 4-6 feet from us. We witnessed them doing their signature spin. The view of the coast was breathtaking. After spending some time there we went to another location where we went snorkeling. The crew walk you through safety procedures and provide everything that’s needed. It was a pleasant experience with all the different species of fish around us. Following that we ate a delicious meal. This is an activity my family and I would definitely be repeating when we return to Oahu.
Operator response
Spinners coming in that close on their own terms is the best version of a dolphin watch. We keep our distance and let them decide, so mornings like yours are a gift rather than something we can promise. Glad the safety walkthrough and the gear made the snorkel easy and the meal held up its end. We'll be here when you're back on Oʻahu.

Dont miss out
This was the highlight of my families trip. The workers on the boat were all welcoming and friendly. We saw so many beautiful things snorkeling. The dinner was delicious even for my picky eater. I would highly recommend doing this.
Operator response
Being the highlight of a family trip is the bar we're aiming for, so thank you for that. Our crew works at making everyone feel welcome from the dock onward, and winning over a picky eater at dinner is a genuine achievement. Mahalo, Heather, and come back out on the water with us.

Great family time at Ko Olina
Had a great time cruising with the excellent Captain Pat and his crew. A professional photographer on board captured every moment so we didn't have to worry about juggling our phones. The tour opened with Pat spotting a pod of about 2 dozen dolphins that ended up swimming along the boat for half an hour. Eventually we broke off to go for a snorkel. Loads of fish, sea stars, and a sea turtle. After snorkeling we had a delicious meal and cruised along the coast with cocktails until heading back to the Marina. It was a great time and the crew was super attentive.
Operator response
Captain Pat spotting a pod of two dozen that then stayed with the boat for half an hour is a rare stretch of luck, and we're glad you were on board for it. Sea stars and a turtle on the snorkel, then a meal and cocktails along the coast, is the day running exactly as intended. Mahalo, and come back and do it again sometime.
