Kaula is a story-based luau, put on by Hawaiian Council to tell authentic Hawaiian stories. With a focus on fun and entertainment, you're part of the show from the moment you arrive until the last high energy note fades and the sound of the ocean takes back the night. It may be Hawaii's story, but we built the experience around you. The unique eat-when-you-want format allows you to skip long buffet lines, and eat when you're ready. The interactive activities are also unlike any others: wandering performers, friendly competitions, cultural lessons, and (voluntary) singalongs combine to make sure you leave with a smile and a generous serving of aloha.

Kaula is a story of music, dance, and wisdom shared between kupuna (grandmother) granddaughter. Together, they embark on a voyage of discovery — traversing oceans and generations to uncover their family’s genealogy from Tahiti, Samoa, and Hawaiʻi. This isn’t just a performance; it’s a celebration of who we are and where we come from, told through the eyes of those who carry these stories in their hearts. Where we come from features in our menu, too, if you choose a ticket which includes dinner. Featuring locally sourced ingredients and authentic family recipes, the delicious all-you-can-eat dinner is served from our food truck pod. Even our cocktails feature locally sourced spirits and ingredients. You won't get bored at Kaula, either -- we offer a variety of cultural and fun activities for all!

Arrive early to parcipate in the preshow activities. The food is authentic Hawaiian, all you can eat and the show was unlike any other luau show. A young inquisitive girl, Mohina wanting to know of her family's heritage consults her Puna which sets forth a highly charged and emotional series of dances woven into Puna's explanations of Mohina's curious questions. All of this is highlighted by the firedance, not just one performers but as many as 8.at the same time. My friends were totally impressed by the whole evening as was I. The best luau ever!!
We had a wonderful time at Kaula Luau and loved spending a special evening there with our family. We booked the luau to celebrate my sister-in-law’s birthday, and since it was her and her family’s first time in Hawaii, it made the night even more special. The location was beautiful and clean, with amazing views. The complimentary drink was a nice way to get the evening started, and the activities before dinner and the show created a great atmosphere for fun, learning, and interaction. The hosts and dancers were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed what they were doing. The storytelling was creative, engaging, and easy to follow, while also giving us a meaningful introduction to Hawaiian culture. The kids especially enjoyed the dancing and cultural activities—and by the end of the night, they were asking how they could learn hula themselves! The dancers were beautiful and talented, and the fire dancers were an exciting way to finish the show. Our host was especially funny and personable, which added to the experience. We’re so glad we found this luau. We were looking for something that felt more intimate and authentic rather than overly commercial, and this was exactly what we were hoping for. It was a memorable evening for our whole family, and a wonderful way to celebrate a special birthday in Hawaii.
We had a wonderful experience , the price for the show was right and affordable too the whole show was amazing and beautiful the staff was really friendly, overall we enjoyed a lot.
We loved the total production. Our adult son, who is very critical, said to me near the end of the performance, “ this is the best thing we’ve done in Hawaii. The food was excellent especially the pork and chicken. Though I had expected a few more items especially more salads, fruits and deserts. But, the reason my son was excited and the main reason to go is the entertainment. The dancing was authentic and excellent. There was acrobatics which was amazing. Finally, the fire dancing was terrific. I would recommend Luau Kaula to anyone looking for the real “Hawaiian” experience.

Great luau! Food was delicious, dancers, artists were beautiful. From the moment you walked in there were activities, tattoos, hands on experiences for the kids. Beautiful setting along the marina and ocean. A smaller intimate venue made it feel more authentic and really a ohana vibe overall.
It was beautifully done and very kid friendly! They had activities for the kiddos prior to the show! There was a bar with decently priced and delicious cocktails/mocktails. The food was buffet style and DELICIOUS and there were not long lines. The best part was for sure the show. It was fun and told a beautiful story about Hawaii! I highly recommend this to anyone and everybody. You will not regret booking!
