Fantastic Tour- Richard was an excellent guide with a ton of information. We got to see and hear a lot about the Dutch and Lower Historic Manhattan. Highly recommend- we could not have asked for a better tour experience!
I am a big fan of history, and the this tour has everything I need. Highly recommend it to anyone want to know deeper about the history of NYC.
The tour guide is the kindest person humankind has even seen. Aside from this he is super smart, patient, and the greatest tour guide ever.
What a tour to learn about the Dutch influence on America. From their early beginnings to when the British kicked them out, as history is written by the winners. But, Dutch influence is everywhere. Our guide, Mickey, was so knowledgeable of their history and gave us some ideas and answers we were looking for. My wife is of Dutch decent and can trace her lineage back to New Amsterdam and Albany/Fort Orange. Mickey was able to mix in some American Revolutionary and British history. Definitely would recommend this tour and Mickey. Will request when we bring back family. 5-star, thanks.
We were looking forward to our tour about the Dutch influence on New Amsterdam which became New York due to the British, as history is written by the winners. Our guide, Mickey, was knowledgable, kind, patient and a great tour guide. We would definitely ask for her again when we come back with family She mixed in some American Revolutionary along with British history in our tour, but mainly was focused on the Dutch influence. We got new information as my wife's genealogy dates back to the Dutch of New Amsterdam and also Albany/Fort Orange. 5-star experience. Thank you,.
Deeper dig into the history of the foundation of Manhattan. The tour and the guide was lovely, definitely recommend it if you are looking for something a little extra in terms of knowledge and content. Still remains well explained and accessible for all.
Mickey was our guide, and gave a personalized, very knowledgeable and thorough tour of the old Dutch area of town. We definitely would recommend
Fun tour in which you really encounter history. Richard gave a good explanation and we had the perfect pace. Definitely recommended if you want to see the tip of Manhattan through historic glasses!
I had read a book this year about Amsterdam settling Manhattan so I was super excited for this tour to be able yo put my eyes on some of the things I had read. The tour guide Mandy was the best of the best guide for this. So knowledgeable and clearly loved sharing the info on this tour. Plus she had great insight into other things to see and read. The tour was all I hoped it would be.
Mandy Edgecombe was a great tour guide. It's not easy navigating the streets of lower Manhattan. But Mandy efficiently directed us around to many fascinating sites. All the while offering interesting historical information. We will want as a guide on her on other NYC tours.
