I had a great experience at the Louvre with my sister. Our tour guide, Dunja, was amazing- she really cared about what we wanted to see and was very knowledgeable about all the art and history. We were in a group of 6 which was great, we got around quickly and weren’t overwhelmed. I would definitely come back for another visit again!

Our guide Liz for our small group tour of the Louvre was great, very personable and highly knowledgeable. The tour broker was The Tour Guy and the company employing Liz was Uncle Sam’s Tours. The tour group size was capped at 6 allowing easier communication with our tour guide Liz. Liz was worldly having studied in multiple countries, including the US and now at the Sorbonne. As such she had firm command of languages, includingEnglish and English idiom, making communication quite easy for the American tourist. Liz nimbly navigated the summer crowds at the museum. This tour hit approximately a dozen of the most iconic works of art in the museum—really just a brief survey. We later took advantage of timed tickets that we had purchased for a Wednesday evening in order to explore further various exhibits that could not be recently encompassed in the introductory guided tour. A cautionary note: the official audio guide that can be rented at the Louvre provides commentary on a seemingly small number of pieces—so it seemed marginally worth the purchase. The organization of this semiprivate tour could be refined —particularly the check in with the guide. Also it was not clear why the tour meeting time was 9:15am rather than earlier in order to avoid more of the early crowds. It also seemed as if we spent 30 to 45 minutes of the entiretour time just navigating security line and check-in now required to the guide. Overall I would recommend this semi-private, small group tour for someone for whom the Louvre is a new experience.

We had a great tour of the Louvre with Ruth and would definitely recommend her. She was so knowledgeable and knew her stuff! You could tell she genuinely loves what she does, and that made the whole experience so much more interesting. The Louvre is huge and can feel a bit overwhelming, but Ruth made it easy to navigate and pointed out so many things we would have walked straight past on our own. She shared lots of interesting stories and little details that really brought the artworks to life. It was one of the highlights of our time in Paris.
