London Theatre: Hadestown

Felt for the cast who were clearly all talented but lumbered with a wandering script and forgettable beats (not even songs). Not a tune I can recall and couldn’t wait for it to be over.

I enjoyed the performance and especially the Jazz inspired songs. I think you need to have an idea about the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, or Greek mythology to get the most out of this. The best song is definitely ‘Wait for me’

I feel awful criticising people's work as I know so much effort went into this, but I found the score rather disappointing to say the least. It's undoubtedly the weakest musical I have ever been to. There is not a single song that stuck, or even a melody I can recall, apart from the irritating love ballad. The cast did their best with what they had but by the end of the show my knees were banging together like a pair of castanets and I got ever so itchy. I put this down to nervous energy caused by the incessant attack on my ears.

We rlly loved it it was such beautiful show and the vocals where incredible you must watch it its worthy and im glad I can hear these vocals on Spotify from the whole show :)

The show was a complete mish mash of a story. Unless you have studied it its nearly impossible to fathom, strange show.

What a fantastic show! The New Orleans jazz style was so engaging. I loved the set, the singing and dancing was excellent. I had read a synopsis of the story line before we attended and that helped me to understand the story line. We sat just a few rows from the stage and the acoustics were amazing. The Lyric theatre is such a beautiful building.

Brilliant show. I went there with zero expectations and not knowing anything about the plot or the actual storyline. I was lucky enough to turn up on the first night at the new principles performance and I love them all full marks. Thank you!

Hadestown is a borderline religious experience. Everything from the lighting, to the music, to the performance and staging was utterly enchanting and heartbreaking all at once. It's truly one of those shows where you can feel the level of heart and hard work put into it, i cannot recommend it enough.

Fantastic show! Great music and performed with such energy and style. Great 'Hades' themed cocktails. A joy from beginning to end.

The show was OK but the extremely rude staff and the cramped seating of the lyric theatre spoiled our evening. This was supposed to be a special day out for our family, but I really wish I’d spent the £300 elsewhere.
