Wow, do not miss! this ! Sarah is fantastic, informative, educational and entertaining. We love going to her class. The meeting place was not too bad (allow extra time) and Sarah was very together: the market tour was extremely interesting and the actually cooking was great. Seriously do not miss.
This cooking class was one of my very favorite things I did during my 9 days in Seoul. I've only ever taken one other cooking class (in Japan), and this was definitely the better of the two: it included a market tour (where Junghee/Sarah bought us delicious melon popsicles to counteract the mid-90s heat) and we made 4 dishes. It was more food than most of us could finish! Junghee was an incredibly engaging guide and instructor, keeping us all attentive despite the heat while we were in the market and while we cooked our dishes in her (very well air-conditioned) home. Junghee was also very gracious about accommodating my vegetarianism and inability to eat mushrooms; my dishes were delicious even without meat. (Just make sure you give her a heads-up when you register!) She shared the recipes with us after class, and I'm looking forward to making them now that I'm home.
Sarah is wonderful! She's very engaging and makes the class a really fun experience. She welcomed us into her home and shared lovely stories about herself, Korean food and culture. The market visit was very interesting and we even got to taste some kimbap along the way. One thing to note, this is a several hour long experience. While we enjoyed the class, we felt it could be sped up a bit it the conversations were limited. All in all, highly recommend!
Junghee was an amazing host that taught us about Korea, food, and cooking. She engaged the group in thoughtful ways and enabled us to make a delicious meal that will help us remember our visit.
The visit to the market beforehand was a really nice touch. It was interesting to learn about Korean ingredients and sample a few local foods before heading to Sarah’s home. Sarah was incredibly friendly and approachable, making everyone feel relaxed and welcome from the start. We worked in pairs at our own cooking stations facing Sarah and cooked four Korean dishes together, following her demonstrations step by step. Once everything was ready, we enjoyed our meal alongside several additional dishes that Sarah had prepared for us. The only downside was the pace, which felt quite slow at times. We spent over half an hour chopping vegetables while Sarah chatted with the group. The conversation was enjoyable, but the class could have moved along a little more quickly. Overall, it was a fun, authentic experience and a great way to learn about Korean cooking. I would definitely recommend it.
We cannot recommend this experience enough. This was a wonderful way to learn more about local life in Korea. We started with a market tour to pick up some ingredients, and learned about foods and local produce along the way. We then enjoyed the cooking class inside the home of our instructor. We made various dishes, all of which were delicious, and we will be making once we get home. Definitely do this tour, no matter your cooking experience.
Our tour guide/teacher was very friendly and personable. She met me with a smile and was very knowledgeable about Korean customs and food culture. We made several delicious dishes and ate what we made together. It was very enjoyable and I would recommend this tour to a friend.
We were a family of five who had booked together. We had a fantastic experience. It was good for both adults and teenagers. The guide “Sarah” was really sweet and very knowledgeable about food culture. In addition, she is good at English, which makes it very easy to follow. The trip started with a trip through the food market and it was really good because she told about the Korean raw materials. We had fun and the atmosphere was good and it was good value for money. Funny to come home in a private home and the guide was the absolute best of all ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed the cooking class - they happily answered any questions during market visit, cooking or afterwards - I learned sooo much! I also really love that the recipes are simple enough that I can actually cook those dishes back at home more often (and not just once a year). The food we made was absolutely delicious! Thank you both for the hospitality!
Astonishingly good! Junghee was outstanding (an absolute masterclass in how to be a top guide) and the whole experience was outstanding. Crucially the food was outstanding and extremely tasty. Highly highly recommended. You will not regret it!
