Luis is a wonderful guide! Saw lots of sites in Lisbon and the Belém area. Lots of walking… approximately 4miles.
Hi Pamela, Thank you so much for your kind words! It was a real pleasure meeting you and your group and showing you around Belém. You're absolutely right—this experience does involve quite a bit of walking, around 4 miles (6–7 km). However, it's mostly flat and follows the beautiful riverside. As this is a tour dedicated to the Belém district, the walking allows guests to discover all of its most iconic landmarks, monuments, and hidden details at a relaxed pace. and have a moment to relax at the bakery to taste the custarts. Thank you again for choosing this experience. I hope you and your group have an amazing time in Porto and enjoy the rest of your trip in Portugal! It was a pleasure to be your guide. Warm regards, Luis
Luis was a wonderful guide! He is very friendly and full of knowledge about Lisbon. He took us through several historical areas stopping to give us information along the way. Be aware that this tour does contain approximately 4 miles of walking.
Thank you so much for your kind review! It was a real pleasure sharing Lisbon and Belém with you. You're absolutely right that this experience includes a good amount of walking, as it's the best way to truly discover the history and atmosphere of the district. That said, the tour is carefully balanced over the 4 hours. Halfway through, we take a well-deserved break at the famous Pastéis de Belém, where guests can relax and enjoy Portugal's most iconic pastry before continuing the experience. The second half of the tour offers a different pace, including a visit to the interactive Quake Museum, one of Lisbon's newest and most engaging attractions. Along the way, we also travel on public transport, adding a genuine local touch to the experience. My goal is to create a well-rounded journey that combines history, gastronomy, local life, and modern immersive experiences, making the tour enjoyable from beginning to end. Thank you again for choosing to explore Lisbon with me. I hope to welcome you back to Portugal in the future! Warm regards, Luis
Our guide Luis was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. It was very informative and the Pastel de Nata’s were the best in all of Portugal. The monastery was beautiful. The Quake museum was very well done and we really enjoyed it.
Dear Mila, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a real pleasure sharing Belém with you. I'm delighted you enjoyed the experience and that the Pastéis de Belém became your favorite in Portugal! My goal with this tour is to create a well-balanced experience where guests can enjoy the city from different perspectives: traveling on public transport like a local, visiting one of Lisbon's most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites, tasting Portugal's most famous pastry, and finishing with the highly interactive Quake Museum, which brings one of the country's most important historical events to life in a unique way. Thank you again for choosing this experience. I hope to welcome you back to Portugal for another unforgettable adventure. Warm regards, Luis
A fantastic guided tour with a very knowledgeable guide. We had a very nice morning. Nice historical places to experience. And Quake was a super nice and fun museum to experience, to get an idea of this tragic event. Well worth the money.
Luis Pena is a knowledgeable and conscientious tour guide. We enjoyed the information that he shared with us, but we wouldn’t recommend this particular tour. The tram ride is most likely on a modern tram and was very crowded and long. Would have been better to just do a tour of Belém. The Quake Museum gives lots of information but overall was boring.
Thank you very much for your feedback Keri. I’m glad you enjoyed the information shared during the tour, and I appreciate the opportunity to guide you and your husband it's truly a pleasure to be with you and guide you in this tour dedicate to the discoveries age and the earthquake of Lisbon. Regarding the tram, the historic ones no longer run to Belém. The city now uses modern trams because they offer more space and carry more passengers, which unfortunately makes the experience last autentic but more confortable and that´s the reason also that during busy times we take the uber sometimes. As for the Quake Museum, it is a new‑generation, highly interactive experience that uses advanced technology, simulations, and immersive rooms. This modern style is different from traditional museums, and that’s why the full experience takes about 1h30m to complete. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. Your feedback helps me continue improving the experiences I offer with Pen Travel Tour Guiding.
