In the BuenaVista Cafe we can try "chicha morada", a traditional non-alcoholic drink from Peru made from purple corn, which is one of the many super foods we have, combined with some fruits, cinnamon and cloves. We will also include an empanada.
Is time to enjoy the "Malecón de Miraflores" this is an area with very iconic places such as "El Parque del Amor" or "El Faro de la Marina". Also from here the view of the Pacific Ocean is incredible.
Barranco is known as the bohemian district of Lima, here we can enjoy the urban art while riding our bikes. We will also make a stop at the old "Juanito" tavern where we can try a delicious "butifarra" with Peruvian country ham.
Then we will continue to the Surquillo market, where we will taste different local fruits, where the most outstanding is the lucuma, the best way to consume it is in smoothies and desserts.
Before finishing the tour there is one more stop at a local restaurant. Our friends from "Mar Adentro" will prepare us a delicious ceviche. This is one of the most representative dishes of Peruvian food made with fish marinated in lemon juice accompanied by onion, corn, chili, etc.

Walking gastronomy tour with Jonatan excellent the guide how educated he is and how friendly
This tour is complete. We visited several places, tasted traditional bites from Peru, exercised, and learned the history of Lima. Our guide was very informed, kind, cautious, but fun. We loved it.

It was a pleasant ride along the bike trail on the Bluffs of Miraflores and in Barranco. It made for a nice introduction. The snacks were not particularly memorable, except the excellent empanada at the restaurant on the Bluffs. The app told us to meet in a location that was incorrect. We were actually supposed to meet at the bike shop on the outer part of the Inca Plaza. I think it was called gogo bikes. Had we known this it would’ve been much less stressful getting started. Our tour became a bit rushed because we went overtime. I don’t think the Guide managed the time well because in the beginning We lingered way too long at several stops. There were only two of us with him. He was very informative and had lots to share. We particularly loved visiting the fruit stands at the end of the tour. Navigating the traffic can be tricky, but mostly we were on the bike trail or side streets.
Loved it! Really great food choices and a really great bike ride along the ocean cliffs. The guide was super nice and taught us a lot about the area, our foods, and the coffee especially.
This was ok. I was only impressed with the stop to eat ceviche. The guide was super friendly and I did enjoy how knowledgeable he was. He was super safe and I did like that I got to see all of Miraflores and Barranco. We biked a lot and I felt like the stops we did, could have been better. I’ve been to many many food tours around the world. I think this was more of a sightseeing tour.
We had one day in Lima and this was the perfect way to spend it! Andres treated us like family and brought us to his favorite local haunts. The food, beverages and company were delightful and gave us a great sense of the food culture in Lima. The bikes were a great way to cover a lot of ground and were all well maintained. Zero complaints!
Great way to get a run down of Lima….seeing Miraflores and Barranco areas. The chicken empanada with lime and the passionfruit juice were sensational. Then to top that off the Italian sandwich was also super awesome. Great way to fill a good 4hours or so.
Thank you for your fantastic review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed exploring the Miraflores and Barranco areas and that the chicken empanada with lime, passionfruit juice, and the Italian sandwich were highlights of your experience. It’s great to know that the tour provided a fulfilling way to spend your time in Lima. We hope to welcome you back for more delicious and exciting adventures in the future!
We had a great time with our Guide Jonathan. We started the tour with a nice chat and a delicious coffee to then take public transport and head to Chinatown, where we could taste some typical snacks. We also visit a traditional market where we taste a multitude of typical fruits. We walk through the historic center, where we expand the variety of dishes to taste until we reach the typical Pisco Sour. Finally we returned to the starting area. A very nice morning when we could feel like lime trees thanks to Jonathan. 100% recommended.
