It really is beautiful here and we’ll be back in the summer to look around the gardens. The high tea was lovely and made all the better by our warm and friendly host.
Never been before. It was a fun experience exploring the grounds around the castle with the dog, before going inside and learning about the castles history and seeing all the different rooms.
Was absolutely fantastic we all thoroughly enjoyed it my 2 granddaughters really enjoyed looking for the “bears” we all really enjoyed it so very interesting reading all about the history
Informative tour about the castle and its history through the Larnach family. Also enjoyed a great afternoon tea on a lovely July winter day.
Interesting and easy to read and access. Fascinating look into the past.

A great visit. A lovely castle, well restored. Loved the videos. Beautiful gardens.
Very olde worlde Exceeded expectations
We booked a guided tour and Christine was our lovely host. Met us at the front door dressed smartly in her kilt and gave us a very knowledgeable and detailed tour of the castle. It was a cool autumn day and not very busy so we were pleased to be her exclusive guests. Well worth a visit when in Dunedin, and worth paying for the detailed guided tour.
Enjoyed this very much. Great getting it cheaper through TripAdvisor- otherwise quite expensive at the gate.
