Follow the Trans-Canada Highway between Lake Louise and Calgary through Banff, Canmore and the Bow Valley. Allow about 2 hours for the roughly 190 km drive, plus any optional stops. Moraine Lake is a referenced attraction, not a drive-by stop: its road is closed to personal vehicles and shuttle access must be arranged separately.
