Live an unforgettable night hike in La Fortuna, near Arenal Volcano, and discover the wildlife that comes alive after dark. Explore the nature trails of Mirador El Silencio accompanied by an experienced naturalist guide who will help you find and get to know Costa Rica’s fascinating nightlife. We will search for red-eyed frogs, poison frogs, snakes, lizards, spiders, insects, resting birds and other nocturnal creatures. With any luck, we can also observe sloths and other mammals. All animals live free in their natural habitat, so every night is different and sightings are not guaranteed. Our family-friendly small group experience allows for a more personal and educational adventure, with opportunities to photograph fauna. Discover the hidden world of the Arenal tropical forest and experience one of the best nature experiences in La Fortuna.

Get into one of Costa Rica’s most iconic forests with our La Fortuna Night Tour, an experience that begins promptly at 5:30 p.m. and invites you to discover the magic of the rainforest at the foot of the imposing Arenal Volcano. During this guided walk you will learn about the geological history that shaped our country, the influence of volcanoes on the local ecosystem and the particularities of the climate of the area. As night falls, the jungle awakens and you can observe the incredible flora and nocturnal fauna of La Fortuna. Among the animals we usually find fascinating amphibians and reptiles such as crystal frogs, tree frogs, rain frogs, wet forest toads and the great cane toad; in addition to snakes such as coral, muzzle, stone hand and the well-known velvet. It is also possible to observe mammals such as coati, armadillos, possums, howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys and spider monkeys.

Transportation included applies only to hotels in Fortuna downtown and hotels on the route to Mirador El Silencio. Pick-up time can vary between 30 and 45 minutes before the start time of the activity.

Brandon did an excellent job as our tour guide. We saw several snakes, frogs, and spiders. He also took all the pictures for us which made it easier for us to be in the moment.
This was a great tour! I went by myself and lucked out that no one else joined our tour. We saw tons of frogs, spiders, and even a viper.

The best night hike, the guide who accompanied me is named Erick and you can tell he loves what he does, he made the experience memorable, despite the rain we saw many animals and insects, I recommend them.

Experience 100% recommended. The guide Eric very attentive and professional. We have seen several species of frogs, four different snakes, insects, butterflies, spiders and a tarantula. Safe at all times. A small group that has allowed to live the experience naturally.

We had an amazing night tour around Arenal Volcano with Nei and Oli! We saw so many animals, and Nei’s knowledge about wildlife, plants and nature made the experience really interesting and educational. It was clear how passionate Nei is and we learned so much along the way. Oli, the driver, was also very friendly and kind-hearted and made us feel comfortable throughout the tour.
