Ky Anh Tunnel & Cham Old Tower By Private Tour History of War

The Ky Anh Tunnels Tour was an excellent experience that exceeded our expectations. Tony was friendly and so knowledgeable and we left with a much better understanding of Vietnam and its history. It was an honour to have Kim, a veteran with lived experience, to show us through the tunnels. The sticky rice for lunch was a real treat! Would thoroughly recommend this tour experience. We had 3 great days on our tour in Hue with Tâm and Hoi An with Vicky, which was put together for us. The visit to the Ky Anh Tunnels was very impressive. We can highly recommend Hung Le Travel.

Tony is a great guide. He will take you to little places along the way that normally one would not go to. His English is good enough to help me understand Vietnamese language and culture. I recommend this tour guide especially for the historic tour.

Wonderful learning experience for the family with kids aged 8,11,13. The veteran answered our questions (translated by our guide) and led us through a section of the tunnels. It was short enough to have been finished by early afternoon and long enough to have time to think about the experiences of locals in the war while being in the environment where it happened.

We had a very impressive private tour with Tony, visiting the Ky Anh Tunnels, the Old Cham Tower, and the Heroic Mother Statue. The tour provided fascinating insights into Vietnam’s history and the impact of the Vietnam War. Tony is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. He answered all our questions and shared many interesting historical details throughout the day. The comfortable, well-air-conditioned car made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone interested in learning more about Vietnam’s history and culture.

Great off the beaten track destinations from Hoi An. The Ky Anh tunnel was an excellent experience over and above Cu Chi and Cham Tower equally a huge insight of local history. We were surprised that many of the local younger generation lack awareness of these attractions. Tony, our driver, was most informative with his local knowledge, safe and careful on the challenging traffic. This tour with Tony as driver is most recommended

Our driver and guide was great. He spoke good English and translated everything well. He was on time, too. The tunnels were really fascinating and also the veteran who told us a lot about the tunnels, history and war was great. Why we cannot give 5 stars is: The service description on the website had 3 main focuses. These were only partially fulfilled. There was no lunch as advertised. The driver tells us this is only true for the morning tour. But that was not described on the website. In addition, we could only view the monument "Mother of War" from the outside, as it was already closed on arrival. Which we regret very much. You should book her the tour for the afternoon differently. First to the monument, then the tunnels and then the towers. That's why only 5 stars.

Amazing opportunity to meet a vietnam war veteran and go in the tunnels however other larger groups can make it difficult to be included - as a family of four, we found the other much larger group dominated space and asked so many questions (responses were in french) leaving little time for our guide to ask/convey in english - what would help is a larger knowledge which is translated in english (ready for the tour) as we appreciate how difficult the translation can be - the veteran was a lovely proud man who shared his passion flower drink with our family at the end when the large group left - recommend if not alongside large group from other nations (translation) - private tour should mean exclusive/special

This was an excellent short excursion to very interesting locations with a wonderful guide who spoke excellent English (David). The Cham tower is a good addition to the My Son complex (if you’ve been there) and although it is just three towers, both my wife and I found it a worthwhile visit. The tunnels experience was also extremely interesting. The old village guide, in addition to David, had interesting stories to tell and answered all our questions. We enjoyed the lack of commercialism and the sense of history provided by the visit. If you’re a Ba Na Hills kind of person, you may not enjoy this as much as we did, but for us, it was the perfect morning trip on our last day in Hoi An! I would recommend if you’re looking for something a little different 🙂
