Important notice- 20 August to 24 October Skyrail Cableway is operating a loop from Kuranda to Barron Falls return NOT the full Skyrail. Guided Rainforest tours will be available and Free entry to the Butterfly Sanctuary in Kuranda. Departing from Port Douglas or Palm Cove (not Cairns), enjoy a small-group Kuranda day tour, limited to 20 guests for a personal and engaging experience. Travel aboard the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway, winding through lush rainforest to reach Kuranda. We meet you in Kuranda and transfer you to the village, where your guide will show you around its famous markets and vibrant arts scene. After two hours of exploring, we pick you up in Kuranda and help you board the award-winning Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for breathtaking views. End the day with a stop in Palm Cove for a relaxing drink (own expense) before returning to Port Douglas by 5:30–6:30 pm.

Important notice- Skyrail Cableway is During this period, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is undertaking a major upgrade, including new gondolas and cable works. As a result, the full Skyrail journey between Cairns and Kuranda will not operate. Instead, your tour includes Skyrail’s special Barron Falls Loop Experience from Kuranda: Return Skyrail gondola journey through World Heritage rainforest to Barron Falls Spectacular views over Barron Gorge Guided rainforest walk with a Skyrail Ranger Interactive rainforest displays Historical displays at Barron Falls Station PLUS COMPLIMENTARY AUSTRALIAN BUTTERFLY SANCTUARY ENTRY As the Barron Falls Loop is a shorter Skyrail experience than the usual full journey, Kuranda Day Tours is including entry to the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary at no additional cost during this upgrade period.

We pick up from all hotels in Port Douglas and Palm Cove, we travel to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for an amazing Multi award winning experience over World Heritage Rainforest. Our driver guide meets you in the Kuranda village where you have free time to enjoy the markets, galleries, Butterfly Sanctuary, Koala gardens and have lunch at one of the many eateries. You then return in the bus or you can upgrade to add the Kuranda Scenic Train. We then stop at Palm Cove for half an hour where you can have a cocktail or drink (at own expense) over looking the beautiful beach, we then return back to your hotel in Port Douglas.

Great tour! Pete was a great tour guide. His playlist on the ride home is flawless! Highly recommend.
Overall the itinerary was average and it felt like we spent more time travelling to each place than admiring the place itself. Due to maintenance work on the cable car we had to drive to Kuranda instead. Our tour guide Chris was pleasant and funny, however, he brought his dog with him which we felt was not ideal. The dog kept on brushing against our feet and laying down in our foot wells. People's allergies/phobias should be taken into consideration especially as Chris didn't provide any advance warning. We also felt rushed at Palm Cove as we weren't given any time to enjoy the sunset/views at the beach and instead were forced to eat our pizza quickly before getting back on the bus. On the return journey Chris had put fun disco lights and music on making the long journey back to Port Douglas more enjoyable.
very enjoyable and informatve trip Was a long day however, starting with pick-up at 8am I am not sure why we had to stop at Palm Cove, was not part of the itinary given to us beforehand, thus made the day an hour longer and cause us to be late for our evening engagement. Regards
Thank you Chris and Bosun for a wonderful day. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to Kuranda. There we visited the bird sanctuary and koala gardens but had to pay for this. We were then taken to the sky train which was a fantastic experience. Unfortunately the sky rail is closed at the moment so we didn’t get to do this. Chris then turned his disco ball on and we sung on the way home.

As the sky rail was closed for maintenance we had Hartleys crocodile experience added to our day . This was a fantastic inclusion. Could have spent longer there but the value was excellent. Kuranda markets were a little disappointing as the stalls were very sparse. The train was fantastic. Beautiful scenery and the history of the rail line was very interesting. Our driver Peter was absolutely fantastic. Informative funny and cheerful. His playlist on the journey home was A plus! It ended up a long day but never felt like it. Having the opportunity to have pizza and a cocktail in Palm Cove meant we just had to return to hotel and put our feet up. Highly recommended this tour

Enjoyable day trip to Kuranda. The heritage "hippy" market is so quirky . It meanders up and down on a hillside in the forest. I've never seen anything like it. Not a big market, but umissable. Our driver Peter was great. I would highly recommend including the Gold Class upgrade on the scenic train...comfy seats, nice snack food, unlimited drinks.

Take skyrail up and down the train ride was ok if you where facing fawards and a bit uncomfortable if facing backwards
