We visited the castle that inspired Shakespeare's Hamlet. It fulfilled all expectation and was worth the scenic train ride to get there. We bought tickets for sel guided entry and climbed the cannon tower steps while enjoying touring the detailed exhibits on various floors.
For all Shakespeare fans and Hamlet buffs, this is a "do not miss" tour. Edgar, our guide, let us decide the time we wanted to spend in each castle. He also had many interesting stories to share about the palaces and Denmark.
Elizabeth was fantastic! She was very informative about the history and the castles as well as being very friendly and funny. She also had a very good rapport with my teenage children. Highly recommended. Only constructive criticism is that the car could be cleaner with better amenity (water, umbrella).
The castle is a swoon. Very well preserved and you can visit almost every room. Very nice surroundings. You can have a good day in the city as it is very beautiful, eats very well and quite cheaper than in Copenhagen. Taking the train from Copenhagen Central Station costs €10 per person each way.

On Friday I went with my family on the tour of Frederiksborg Castle with Dinturia Tours. The castle is beautiful it is really worth visiting and our guide Martina was very good she explained every room of the castle with so many historical notions was very professional, attentive, very prepared and never intrusive and since some rooms of the castle were closed she took us for a ride in the beautiful gardens from where we took beautiful photos.................. I recommend you do this tour with Dinturia and if you have Martina as your guide even better .................... MARTINA FOREVER

Unfortunately the weather was most foul and disturbed when we visited this castle - that even Hamlet would have been perplexed! An experience that is well worth going to regardless of the weather! The guides are exceptionally good. Make sure you do a tour to get the full experience of this historic castle. Not sure why Shakespeare chose this castle as a setting for his masterpiece- Hamlet other than he wanted to ingratiate himself with the royals of Denmark and England of the time. An interesting and superb place to visit.

Had a great time visiting the 2 castles. Elizabeth was a great guide and gave us all fun interesting little stories about all the kings and assorted personalities. So much fun. The driver was also great and felt very safe and comfortable.
