Kona Signature Catamaran Sunset Sail

Wonderful experience, great crew, perfect evening. Only issue, instructions to tour site were incomplete.

Extremely disappointed with both Viator and Hawaii Nautical Big Island. We booked a catamaran tour during our vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii. Due to terrible ocean conditions, we requested to move our reservation from Friday to Sunday. We contacted Hawaii Nautical directly, and they rebooked us for Sunday. However, despite the rebooking, we were later informed that it would not be honored. The result? We lost $180 because of miscommunication between Viator and Hawaii Nautical. What makes this especially frustrating is that we weren’t asking for a refund or trying to cancel our experience. We simply wanted to reschedule due to unfavorable ocean conditions and still enjoy the excursion we had already paid for. Instead of working together to resolve the situation, the two companies left us caught in the middle, with neither taking responsibility for the outcome. The customer should not be financially penalized because two companies cannot communicate effectively. We booked through Viator expecting a reputable company that would stand behind its customers when problems arise. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. My advice to other travelers: Think twice before booking through Viator, especially when a third-party tour operator is involved. If something goes wrong, you may find yourself out of pocket with little assistance. A very disappointing experience and $180 wasted. Viator and Hawaii Nautical need to do better.

During our vacation to the Big Island, one of the excursions we wanted to be sure to do, was a sunset cruise. We've done them on the other Hawaiian islands we've visited, and sometimes they are great, and sometimes just average. But this one was pretty good. The boat was nice, and there were only 28 people on this evening, which was kind of nice. The captain (Michael) and crew did a good job of handling the tour, and we were fortunate enough to actually see a sunset. That wasn't a given, since hurricane Nolo had just passed through. In fact, our originally scheduled tour was cancelled because of the hurricane. But Hawaii Nautical was very helpful and accommodating to get us rescheduled before our vacation was over. The open bar was good, but the food was pretty average. Chicken & rice, and Mac salad from Pine Tree Cafe. Not my favorite. But everything else was good.

We absolutely loved this excursion. The captain and mates were awesome. There were also plenty of picture taking opportunities while onboard.. Drinks are plentiful and the dinner of teriyaki chicken and macaroni salad was delicious. Highly recommend it.

Great Boat, Great Captain, Great Crew!!! Couldn’t ask for a more perfect evening!!! Between the amazing sunset and perfect weather, the crew elevated the experience with a great meal, excellent music, tasty drinks and dolphins on cue! Could not recommend more highly!!!

Cloudy day so didn’t really get much sun but on the flip side sitting out and watching waves crash into the mountain and water splashing high was beautiful. Food is eh but also want expecting anything fancy.
