This is a very unique experience. Manta Rays are inches away. The boat drive is only 3 minutes so it’s friendly to people who have sea sickness
This was an amazing experience! The crew was extremely nice, funny, and knowledgeable.
This is a company that only cares about how much they can make and how quick they can make it. After many fabulous wildlife tours around the world I can say this is one of the worst. They bombard you on the entire tour asking for tips but are not helpful. The guide could not assist a woman who needed help with her mask. I also felt bad for taking a tour that promotes unnatural feeding of manta. If you want to do a tour maybe try hang loose they were great on other tours we took.
The tour was excellent, with many different times to choose from. We were able to see 4 adult mantas and 1 baby! The tour is worth the cost of marine life is your jam. Their rebooking policy is also very attractive! It was a relatively short visit of around an hour but most of that time was spent in the water (30~ mins) with mantas and only a few minutes on a boat. Kayla and Rory were helpful crew members and captains respectively. Greg was in the water with us and was a particularly engaging guide with fantastic knowledge of the individual mantas. He made the experience stand out! Small crowd size was great for a personal experience and the atmosphere was electric when the mantas arrived! Best for marine enthusiasts and nature lovers!
Second time around for us. Instructions online and through text messages are very clear and helpful. Host at the beginning gives clear instructions on what to expect (with visuals). This time around it took a few minutes — guide had to warm our group up to making some noise. Saw two huge rays. Was really incredible. If you have the money, because it’s not cheap for a family of four, do it. It’s a fun experience you can’t to everywhere. Some other pros, love how they are explicit about not touching the rays. It’s the first rule and instruction they give.
What an incredible experience. Seeing these gentle giants up close was amazing. 5 minutes in a boat and then into the water by sailing from Keauhou. Micah, Leo, and Cody were fantastic.
The crew were great. Very knowledgeable and helpful. They added fun to the experience. This is a must see for a trip Kona!
No manta rays showed up when we went on the trip. They told us on the boat that they have a 93% success rate, but some of the other things they said suggested otherwise. There is nothing fun about this trip if the rays don't show up. The company does let you go on another ride free if you see no rays, but the rides we were available for were already full. So, no rays and no second trip. That's a lot of money to pay to see plankton.
See absolutely nothing. It was just a boat ride. Offered to come back again for free. Others who were on the boat said they been back 3 times already
This is a good experience if you just wanna get on a little boat, jump off the side for the experience. If you want a more unique personalized experience, go on a larger boat. Koa, Gary and Keala were great! It was so cool and a little scary! Only because it's dark. Highly recommend this excursion. I've been coming to the island for years and this is the only thing I hadn't done and it is one thing I will do again and again.
