Description
Fort Kochi has a long and complicated history of dates, events, conquests and colonizers. The old bungalows, towering trees and sprawling grounds all stood witness through the vast changes from a small village to a fortress, to a bustling trading post to our whimsical town of today. It is my passion to collect stories from the neighborhood elders and relate them to Fort Kochi’s historical timeline. These sprightly anecdotes make it easy for guests to recall their visit to our quaint historical village on the Arabian Sea. Come, be my guest.

Ajitha gave us a fantastic tour of Fort Kochi. Explained the history along with her lived experience and efforts made to restore the legacy of the place. The tour lasted around 2 hours from 7-9 am. There were 5 of us in total. I highly recommend Ajitha's walking tour for anyone interested in the history of Fort Kochi. She will give you all the necessary details which you can then follow up like museums to visit etc. My best wishes to Ajitha for the great work she is doing!

Amazing tour of Fort Kochi with a very knowledgeable local guide. It was very interesting to find out about the history of the town as well as some personal anecdotes. Ajita is clearly a key part of the conservation of Fort Kochi and her passion is contagious. It was a history lesson while we walked around. Highly recommended!
This is def a hidden gem! Ajitha was absolutely outstanding. We started bang on time. The conversation was easy, full of interesting details about Kochi ranging from politics to history to plants and restaurant recommendations. She has some great personal stories about Kochi as well. In fact she was so good that we requested a private tour again with her of the Dutch Palace and Jew town - also excellent.
This was my first heritage walk, and Ajita has set the bar impossibly high Her knowledge of Fort Kochi's history is remarkableand what makes it truly special is how she weaves in personal stories to bring it all to life. You can feel her love for the city, its people, and her own family in every step of the walk. Our two-hour session flew by. If you're on the fence about booking this, stop deliberating, just do it!
