Explore our 5-acre oasis at Kiwi Park. A family-owned and operated wildlife centre in the heart of Queenstown, dedicated to saving our endangered wildlife species. We have over 20 species of native wildlife including New Zealand's national icon, the Kiwi and our living fossil, the Tuatara. Kiwi Encounters: Enjoy an unforgettable experience viewing Kiwi while learning about these fascinating birds from our professional wildlife team. Times: 10am, 11am, 12:15pm, 1pm, 2:15pm, 3pm, 4:15pm & 5pm (Oct-April) 10am, 11am, 12:15pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3:45pm & 4.30pm (May - Sep) Conservation Show: Get up close and personal with our most fascinating, endangered wildlife in this entertaining 30-minute free flight show. Times: 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30 & 5:30pm (Summer) 11:30am & 3pm (Winter) Important: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before Kiwi Encounter, Subject to availability. Maximum occupancy in Kiwi House is 80 people. Kiwi House open at all times outside Kiwi Encounters for viewing.

Definitely not one to miss!
What a fantastic experience in Queenstown, a change from the fast, thrillseeking activities that seem to lure the tourists here, the Kiwi park is just a lovely, calm experience in a beautiful setting. It was so awesome to see Kiwi up close, as well as all of the other native birds. Handsdown a highlight of our day!

A walk to remember in Kiwi Park
The experience was amazing! We love the park. It is very knowledgeable and we learn a lot about birds and how different species are taken cared of for their survival in the nature. We enjoyed looking at kiwis, different birds. Everything. The show was also must see. It helps us understand them.

A cozy and relaxing activity for animal lovers!
We did this activity because our other tour fell through but this activity was super nice and fun. It's much cheaper to buy tickets through Viator than through the main website. When we got there, one of the conservation talk show just started (11:30) so we joined. It was nice listening to a staff talk about the local animals and showing some to us. We then made our way to the 12:15 kiwi encounter session towards the back of the park. Please note you cannot use your phones nor cameras because kiwis are nocturnal animals and can be frightened by the lights. When it was time, we went into the dark room and got to see 4 kiwis behind glass panels. Then we simply explored the entire park. Some animals like reptiles were hibernating since it's winter and cold here. Overall it was a nice visit other than the fact we couldn't take pictures of the kiwis but they have QR codes with professional pictures taken so it was still good. The staff were all friendly and it was a nice and relaxing visit that lasted about 2 hours. A must visit for animal lovers for a quiet and relaxing activity!

All In a good cause
Privately run and doing their bit to save the Kiwi, didn't mind the entrance fee as for a good cause. So Kiwi houses and we saw 2 Kiwi. Other bird houses look a bit tired though.

Worth a visit
Staff were very informative and friendly. We enjoyed the close encounter show and seeing native NZ birds up close. Set in a beautiful sanctuary.
