Journey to the Roof of Africa

What an AMAZING experience that would not have been possible without the incredible Altezza team. From start to finish Sophia had us organized- nothing was too hard. So accommodating and prompt. I cannot express enough my thanks and gratitude to the exceptional team of guides - led by Joshua, the porters and cooks. You guys made our dream a reality. The care, patience and professionalism made us feel safe and assured we were in good hands and able to achieve a view from the roof of Africa. It was hard. At times I wondered why I was there but the team made it happen. A huge thanks to Micah who was my angel on summit day. Never left my side and got me there. Thank you. Highly highly recommend Altezza. A word of advice. Hire a toilet!!!!! Best money you will ever spend. And gaitors.

An unforgettable Kilimanjaro experience with Altezza

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is not easy. Reaching Uhuru Peak takes physical effort, mental strength, teamwork and, importantly, the right people around you. After recently completing the climb with Altezza, I can honestly say that the team made a huge difference. My scheduled arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport was 7:00 pm, but because of a severe operational delay with Air Tanzania, I didn’t arrive until well after midnight. Despite the late hour, the Altezza driver was right there waiting for me. The ride to the hotel was in a big, comfortable Toyota and, most importantly, I felt completely safe and looked after from the moment I arrived. The following day, the Altezza manager carried out a thorough gear check to make sure we had everything required before starting the climb. That attention to detail immediately gave me confidence. And then came the team — nearly 40 people supporting just five of us! It was an incredible level of support. The food was consistently good, tasty and, importantly, prepared in clean and hygienic conditions despite the challenging environment on the mountain. A few people deserve a special mention: Musa – Chief Guide What a personality! Musa was not only an excellent chief guide but also an incredible singer with a fantastic voice. His songs kept us motivated throughout the climb, especially during the summit push. And it wasn’t just our group — his singing seemed to motivate people all along the trail! David & Joseph – Assistant Guides Both were fantastic. David kept a close eye on us throughout the climb, while Joseph somehow seemed to appear exactly where we needed him — sometimes behind us and, at some of the tougher sections, suddenly ahead guiding us! Their encouragement and motivational talks made a real difference. One line in particular stayed with me: “Tough times don’t last… tough people do.” Chef Kazimoto Producing tasty, wholesome food under such difficult mountain conditions is no small achievement. He did an outstanding job throughout. Pascal – Waiter At every pit stop, there he was — hot tea, biscuits, muffins, groundnuts and, most importantly, that big, big smile! His cheerful presence was something we looked forward to every day. Alex – Camp Master Alex would secure one of the best spots at each campsite and have our tents ready well before we arrived. And as we walked in, he would point us towards a particular stone where we were to leave our dusty boots — and he would clean them for us! That level of care says a lot about the team. Magoti & Gadson – Summit Assistants These two were awesome. They are being trained by Altezza as future guides, and they were incredibly supportive, enthusiastic and encouraging throughout the climb. I feel guilty mentioning only these names because there were another 35 or so people working behind the scenes. Every single one of them played a part in getting us safely to Uhuru Peak. From the cooks and camp staff to the porters and guides, the entire team deserves recognition. Kilimanjaro is not an easy climb, but having a company like Altezza behind you makes a real difference. They may not be the cheapest option, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for — and in this case, I felt that the level of organization, safety, support, food and, above all, the quality of the people made the investment worthwhile. A huge thank you to the entire Altezza team for helping make my Kilimanjaro experience so memorable. I would recommend Altezza any day to anyone considering the climb. Asante sana, Altezza! And thank you for getting us to Uhuru Peak! 🏔️🇹🇿

Outstanding organization, professionalism and an exceptional mountain team

We recently completed an 8-day Lemosho Kilimanjaro trek with Altezza Travel, and the overall experience was excellent. From the planning stage, Sofia was extremely helpful, responsive and attentive to detail. Once we arrived in Tanzania, the organization continued to impress us. Aishi Machame Hotel was beautiful and comfortable, with excellent service, and the ground team was very helpful with equipment checks and fitting rented gear. We also chose several optional comfort upgrades that turned out to be very worthwhile. We used the private shower three times during the trek, on days 1, 2 and 5, and were very glad we had booked it. The high sleeping tent and camp beds were also very comfortable. We also booked a private toilet, and because of the extreme cold at night, the team agreed to place it in the vestibule of our sleeping tent, which made nighttime use much more comfortable. The mountain team was exceptional. Brown, our chief guide, gave us complete confidence with his experience, calm leadership and ability to solve every problem. Shammah was supportive throughout and always adjusted the pace and assistance to our needs. Kazimoto, our cook, worked hard to adapt meals to our preferences and appetite and brought great energy with his singing. Augustino constantly made sure we ate, drank and stayed warm. Athuman managed the camps efficiently and with great spirit. Erick kept the toilet and shower facilities clean and ready. Omary and David gave us valuable physical support when we needed it, and Kelvin was always warm, cheerful and encouraging. The porters as a whole worked incredibly hard and made the entire journey possible. What stood out most was the combination of professionalism, attention to detail, safety, warmth and genuine care. We felt supported from the planning stage all the way through the mountain. We would gladly recommend Altezza to anyone considering Kilimanjaro.

The amazing Kilimanjaro

From the bottom of my heart, thank you! It was the best experience I’ve ever had in my whole life, honestly! As for the guides: Kassim, Osman, Agrey, Thomas and Hance, I’m lost for words to describe the calmness, responsibility, knowledge and care they showed us at all times throughout the entire trek. Not to mention their constant encouragement! To the porters: Violet and David – without them by my side, carrying my rucksack and cheering me on, I wouldn’t have overcome the challenges. To Sit and Daniel (Emanuels) – thanks to them, our meals were always filled with joy, laughter and warmth. To the rest of the 64 people – without you, I wouldn’t have reached the summit on the 16th and returned safely.

What a great Altezza team!!

The Altezza staff organized everything so well and were so supportive that it's hard to find the right words to describe how great the hike/climb was. At 71, I honestly had doubts I would be able to successfully summit Kili, but everyone - from the amazing lead guide Marwa and his team of outstanding guides Modest, Agre, and Paschcal - to the assistant guides who climbed with us on our final push and pulled me up the rocks or carried my backpack - to camp manager Daniel who was always there with a song and a helping hand - and so many more - Witness and Baracka and on and on - who were always there with a smile and a helping hand - in fact everyone in the team made it possible for me to achieve my dreams and kept us positive. What a great team. "One team, one dream". Thank you so much, Altezza!

Altezza Women’s Hike is the best!

If you’re a woman wanting to climb Kilimanjaro, Altezza’s women’s hike should be your first choice. Everlyne and her team are amazing. They got us up and back safely and with so much JOY. I did the 8-day Lemosho route which was hard, but manageable. The packing list outlines everything you need. I had a 50/50 split of items I rented from Altezza and items I brought. The rental options was great and high quality. A few tips - it is cold every night at sunset, pack a light puff jacket. While the standard tent is for 4, once you add your duffle and 2 people it is very tight. It is worth having your own tent. Rent a toilet! Overall, one of the best adventures I have had and I highly recommend Altezza.

Exceptional experience with Altezza

From beginning to end, Altezza have been exceptional. When I first reached out to Altezza via whatsapp to make enquiries and understand more about which routes would be best suitable, to clothing, cost, food etc - Kristina the Altezza rep on whatsapp was ultra responsive and answered all our questions. We never felt we were being misguided and she was very keen to ensure we had all bases covered. When we arrived in Kilimanjaro - an Altezza was there to meet us and to take us to our hotel. We rented a lot of our clothing and gear from Altezza - the quality was of a very high standard and very clean (they had top brands such as Osptrey, HH, Columbia etc). On the trek our group (initially 7 people) had a team of 41 individuals looking after us - guides, cooks, porters. Our 3 guides - Musa, David and Joseph were exceptional - always there to give us guidance and advice on what to do, how to do it, and the mindset needed to have a successful and enjoyable summit. They all had great personalities and made things fun and light hearted too. Moving through the camps, the "logistics" staff were so good and what they did that the transition from one camp to another was seamless. The quality of the food in camp was of a very high standard - always a good choice of options - tasty and energising. Summit night was a tough experience but the guides and their team did a great job to ensure that we did things in a way that gave us the greatest chance of success. If you're thinking of taking on the Kilimanjaro challenge I would highly recommend Altezza as your recommended travel provider - you will not regret it. Above everything else they will always ensure your safety. Enjoy!

Dream trip

I went to climb Mount Kilimanjaro with my two sons. We were a private group. Adam and Wysen were our guides. We had an unforgettable experience. There were 37 porters, guides, and cooks with us. Their presence was reassuring throughout our trip. The food was incredible, fresh, and tasty. The entire team contributed to making our stay most exciting. Despite the language barrier, we managed to communicate with everyone and learn to share with them throughout our expedition. A huge thank you for the entire organization, which was surgically perfect. From the minute we arrived until the end, nothing was left to chance. Their presence and the organization were really well-oiled. Thanks a thousand times for this beautiful experience. We will have memories in our minds and hearts to cherish for a long time.

The Most Rewarding Experience; Couldn’t Have Asked for a Better Team

**An Unforgettable Experience with Altezza — 8-Day Lemosho Route** What an amazing trip! Climbing Kilimanjaro was the most rewarding experience I have ever had. The views were breathtaking, but what truly made the journey so incredible was the team who took such exceptional care of us every step of the way. From the very beginning, it was clear that our safety and comfort were the team's top priorities. The level of organisation and care throughout the entire operation was incredible. Every day, we would leave camp and head out on a hike, often stopping along the way to meet Frank or Faraja for tea — honestly, those tea stops were often one of my favourite parts of the day! We would then arrive at our next camp to find that our bags had already been moved, our tents were prepared, hot food was ready, hot water was waiting for us, and our camp masters, Alex and Victor, were there with a smile. All nine people in our group successfully reached the summit, and I truly believe that was in large part because of the kindness, dedication and expertise of the incredible team supporting us. Our guides — Godlove, Rajabu, Hamza and Adriano — were expert mountaineers who were incredibly knowledgeable and kept us on pace throughout the climb. Godlove led an amazing team and was constantly coordinating things behind the scenes to make sure we had the best possible experience, including getting us some of the best spots at camp. Our guides taught us so much about Tanzanian culture, the mountain and their own lives. Getting to know them and hearing their stories created a level of trust that became incredibly important when we reached summit night. Alex and Victor, our camp masters, were always prepared to help with anything we needed and made sure we were as comfortable and well looked after as possible. Frank and Faraja looked after us in the meal tent and were always making sure we had enough to eat — reminding us to "finish our plate and feel great"! I enjoyed their company so much and will genuinely miss Frank's chanting. They brought so much energy and joy to the experience. And the food was fantastic. Hassan and Humphrey prepared delicious, hot meals for us every day — breakfast, lunch and dinner — which was especially impressive given where we were! We even received an amazing summit-night treat bag and got to choose some of our favourite snacks to have before the big climb. Summit night was challenging, but incredibly rewarding. I will be eternally grateful to all of the guides and porters who helped me make it to the top. They were constantly checking on us and were always ready with water, snacks, an extra layer, or whatever else we needed to keep going and, most importantly, keep us safe. A huge thank you to Moses (Amos) one of our porters (and, I believe, a junior guide as well), who carried my bag when I was struggling with the altitude. He became my companion on the mountain, and his support meant so much to me. I am incredibly grateful for everything he did. The entire team worked so hard behind the scenes to get all nine of us to the summit safely, and their dedication was evident every single day. They didn't just get us up the mountain — they made the entire journey an unforgettable experience. I am eternally grateful to Altezza and to every member of the team who shared this journey with us. Kilimanjaro will always hold a very special place in my heart, and I could not have asked for a better team to experience it with. Thank you, Altezza, for an absolutely incredible adventure!

Exceptional service

Altezza travel have been exceptional in handling all aspects of the tour. They are very organised and professional. Special mention to the 4 guides, Victoria, Julius, Erik and Joseph who helped me achieve my ambition. Food was amazing. Everybody worked with a smile. I would recommend only using Altezza travel. They also have a shop to hire the kit which is very convenient. They had 61 members of staff for a group of 10 people. I could write an essay about my experience but in short it was nothing short of amazing. Thank you Altezza.
