An unforgettable journey up Kilimanjaro with Altezza
Being mostly day hikers ourselves, a hike up Kilimanjaro is definitely something we didn’t think we could achieve but the amazing guides and staff at Altezza made the impossible possible for us! From customizing our climb to match our limited time, to providing literally every available comfort on the mountain, and a truly trustworthy staff to take care of every aspect of our trek, Altezza surpassed our highest expectations. Climbing a >19000ft mountain is no small feat and we wouldn’t have made it even halfway up the mountain without our amazing team who not only kept us sane but who looked out for us and rooted for us with every painstaking step up the mountain. While virtually everyone deserves a shout out from our team, we’re grateful to Badru and Dionis who literally forced us to eat despite the altitude knowing that we couldn’t summit without it! Of everyone with us though, our guides, Frances and Godson were the true heroes of our climb! They kept us laughing when the walks got long, kept us safe through the altitudes and the sometimes tricky paths and kept us hyped and motivated, often even going as far as to sing to us at our lowest points! — through the brutal summit night, never once giving up on us even when we came close giving in ourselves! Thank you Altezza and especially Frances and Godson for these truly incredible moments that will be the highlight of lives for a long time to come!

Amazing Kilimanjaro Experience with Altezza Travel ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had an amazing Kilimanjaro experience with Altezza Travel. From the very first day I contacted them, throughout the climb, and all the way until my departure from Kilimanjaro Airport, everything was seamless, smooth, and very well organized.
I had an unforgettable 6-day / 5-night journey to the summit of Kilimanjaro with an incredible Altezza team. The entire crew was highly professional, organized, and genuinely hospitable. A huge thank you to the porters, chef, camp masters, and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard to make the experience comfortable and memorable.
Special thanks to our guides Daud, Filippo, Ayyub, Juma, Wilson, and Noel for their support, encouragement, professionalism, and positive energy throughout the climb.
Reaching the summit was an incredible experience, and the Altezza team played a huge part in making it possible.
Highly recommended to anyone planning to climb Kilimanjaro! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Unforgettable Memories on Kilimanjaro
Unforgettable Memories on Kilimanjaro
My husband, seven other family members, and I recently climbed the Lemosho route and created memories that will last a lifetime. What I initially planned as a great hiking adventure turned into something far greater than I ever could have imagined.
From day one, our Altezza team was incredible. Our lead guide, Albert was a great leader and took great care of us, along with our other guides Julius, Eliakim, Augrey, and Elineema all of who showed exceptional individual care of each of us. They made sure we were well prepared for every leg of the journey. Right from the start, it felt like a true team effort, and we knew we were going to reach the summit together.
Camp life was seamlessly organized thanks to Paul and Athuman, who managed every daily detail. The food was outstanding; our chefs, Albert and Benson, put incredible thought and effort into every meal. Our servers, Seif and Patrick, took fantastic care of us, and we loved getting to know them. We also opted for private camp toilets, which I highly recommend, our porters Oscar and Muhidini kept them clean and ready throughout the trek.
While I wish I could name every single one of our porters who made this journey possible, every member of the crew was truly amazing. I set out expecting to climb a mountain, but what truly defined this trip were the incredible people and the care we felt every single step of the way. I will never forget my time with our Altezza family. Thank you!

Seamless
A terrific trip end to end. From booking to airport pick up to equipment rental to support on the trail and eventually getting 13 people aged 26-67, all from different backgrounds and skill levels, successfully up- and down- the mountain with enthusiasm and safety- Altezza handled all the details. If you're planning on climbing Kili, this will be your best- and easiest- decision. They'll get you to the top. You just have to show up and keep your feet moving.

6‑Day Lemosho Route — Outstanding Experience with Altezza Travel
This review is for the 6‑day Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route. I’ve completed other high‑altitude treks (including Machu Picchu), so this perspective comes from someone who is not a first‑timer.
1. Booking & Pre‑Trip Preparation — A Truly Well‑Oiled Machine
Our travel specialist, Rita, supported our group of five and exceeded every expectation. She customized our itinerary perfectly, arranged rest days, selected excellent hotels, and ensured every transfer happened on time. She even helped speed up our visa approvals. Her communication was fast, detailed, and consistent across time zones — it felt like she never slept!
2. Gear, Rentals & Camp Comfort — Top‑Notch, Clean, and Thoughtful
The Altezza team visited our hotel the day before the climb for a full equipment check. They reviewed every single item to ensure we were properly prepared for all six days. Thanks to their detailed checklist (provided weeks ahead), we didn’t need to rent anything additional.
The gear we did use — tents, sleeping bags, and private portable toilets — was excellent and perfectly maintained. Each of us received a personalized mug for the trek, a nice touch we used throughout.
At every camp, our tents were already set up, hot water was waiting, and the dining tent was ready. Each night we received sleeping‑bag warmers, and each morning began with coffee or tea delivered directly to our tents. These thoughtful touches made a real difference.
3. Safety & Medical Oversight — Consistent and Reassuring
Altezza conducts two daily medical checks, morning and evening. They monitored our oxygen saturation, heart rate, and overall symptoms, and paired this with conservative pacing and helpful nightly briefings. Their structure and professionalism made us feel safe throughout the climb.
4. The Crew — Expert, Hard‑Working, and Always Upbeat
Our crew was absolutely fantastic. They carried everything — and always with a smile. They checked on us constantly, refilled hydration packs, carried daypacks when needed, and moved our gear seamlessly between tents and the common area.
They also brought incredible positive energy: smiling, singing, encouraging us on the toughest sections. On summit night, several crew members even carried extra water for us. The tea breaks on the trail were a wonderful touch and often felt like a VIP moment.
5. Food & Hydration — Plenty of It, Always Hot and Customizable
Meals were consistently excellent: hot, plentiful, and easily customized. The chef regularly checked if we needed adjustments. And the surprise tea/snack stations along the trail were a highlight. There was always more food than we could finish.
6. Summit Success — A Structured Path to the Top
The 6‑day Lemosho is a demanding itinerary with limited acclimatization time, but all five of us summited — ages ranging from 32 to 56 — and none of us experienced altitude sickness. The pacing was appropriate, especially the “pole pole” rhythm when it mattered most.
Where There’s Room for Improvement
My only critique relates to pacing and break management. Although the guides encouraged us to speak up, it was sometimes difficult to get additional breaks once on the trail. They also tended to underestimate remaining distance, elevation gain, or time — meant to motivate us, but occasionally counterproductive. When you fuel for “6 miles left” and learn there are actually eight, it can be frustrating.
These issues were minor overall but enough to cost one star. Importantly, the guides still got us all to the summit safely — and that is what matters most.
Bottom Line
If you want a safety‑first, comfort‑focused Kilimanjaro climb with outstanding logistics and a deeply supportive crew, Altezza Travel is an excellent choice.
Yes, it’s a premium‑priced operator — but the peace of mind, professionalism, equipment quality, and exceptional crew make it absolutely worth it, especially for first‑time climbers or mixed‑experience groups.

An Unforgettable Experience Thanks to an Amazing Team🗻😍🥹
It was truly one of the best experiences of my life, and that was largely thanks to the incredible team and our two amazing guides. From the very beginning they made such a big effort to make everyone feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. The atmosphere was so special ❤️ really felt like we were one big family.
I had never climbed a mountain or even gone on a real hike before, but I felt supported and well looked after every step of the way. That meant a lot to me.
And I also have to mention the food I had read in other reviews that the food was amazing, but it was honestly even better than I expected. Really delicious 👏🏼
One of my personal highlights was getting tea delivered to my tent every morning. It’s these small details and the thoughtfulness of the team that made the experience so special.
I’m honestly not an outdoor person normally, but thanks to this amazing team I might have become one. I will absolutely recommend this experience to all of my friends.

A lifetime experience with an amazing Altezza Crew
The whole experience definitely exceeded my expectations by far.
Our two guides Elia and Goodluck did such an amazing job. They became our Kakas (brothers).
- Elia and I connected from the first minute, when he picked us up in the hotel lobby; I was really struggling on the way up; if it was not for him, I would not have made it up to the summit. He was there for me, physically and emotionally and when we reached Uhuru peak and touched the sign together, I felt overwhelmed
- Goodluck always had a smile on his face, he was always positive and open for a good laugh; he helped me down today and made sure that I was well throughout
The whole crew was absolutely fantastic. Peter the chef, Kenja as our waiter, Besti who always made sure that we had a very clean toilet, Frank, who joined as a third guide on summit day, Viktor as our campmaster, who made sure we had great conditions to rest and eat and all the others who took such good care of us. One of the many camp highlights was dancing to one of our party songs „Macarena“ in one of the camps.
I have fallen in love with the Tanzanian people and I will surely be back.
Thank you Altezza Travel for an unforgettable experience.

All in all a 10/10 experience. Everything was perfectly organised, and everyone in the team (really everyone) was fantastic. They are all so nice, experienced, do anything to get you to the summit, and most importantly with lots of joy and a smile. What a great adventure.
