Khmer Cooking Class at a Local's Home in Krong Siem Reap

Fantastic and fun experience with Sorya, our guide! After a visit to the local market to collect some key ingredients, we could choose the dishes we wanted to cook from a menu of various options. Our favourite dish was a vegetable red curry. The instructions provided were clear and easy to follow, and all in English. The ingredients were fresh and the end results were so delicious!! Sorya was very knowledgeable and answered any questions clearly. Despite the two of us being the only people signed up for the class, they still continued with the session which was very kind. The pick up from the hotel was very smooth, the driver messaged on Whatsapp prior to collecting us which was great. We would highly recommend this experience to all interested in the local Khmer cuisine and those looking for something different to do whilst in Siem Reap.

An incredible value—super fun and genuinely interesting! They picked us up at our hotel in a tuk-tuk and took us to a local market about 20 minutes outside the center. Everyone was extremely friendly, and they introduced us to all kinds of local ingredients and products. From there, we went to their cooking school, which is set in a lovely garden. Everything we made was absolutely delicious, and “King” Kong, our instructor, was charming, knowledgeable, and great fun. The whole experience felt authentic, relaxed, and very well organized. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time! Learned a lot at the local market, then traveled to the “house” for our cooking class, where we selected our starters, entrees, vegetables, and desserts - and then prepared them. All the dishes came out fantastic despite our limited cooking experience!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! So worth it, you got to see a market and learn so much about the culture through the authentic experience. The food was absolutely delicious and was very fun and interactive to make. You get to choose from a few options of what to make! Very worth the price and was a good length of time. The staff were incredibly friendly and fun to talk to.

We had an amazing experience with Kong, he was such fun and made the class so enjoyable. We really enjoyed learning about his garden and growing the vegetables he uses in his classes. His instruction was top class, very easy to follow and we had a lovely meal to enjoy at the end of our lesson. Thank you King Kong 💪 I would highly recommend this cooking class.

Perfect experience with King Kohn. All the meals were delicious and we spent a wonderful time in a very beautiful area. Totally recommend it !

Would absolutely recommend this experience for anyone looking for an authentic Khmer cooking experience! Kong took us to the local market, pointing out all the vegetables and how people use them in dishes, before we started cooking at the kitchen. Each person could choose from several options for all 4 courses, and all in all we prepared mango salad, vegetable tempura, pineapple fried rice, cashew chicken, fish amok, and coconut milk tapioca with banana. Sivorn made everything so simple and fun, and everything was delicious. Kong had a great sense of humor (and muscles) too! Very lovely people and so deserving of 5 stars.

Amazing, nice guides, who can tell a lot about the food and speak clear English! The food is really good and Sivorn and King Kong are really really nice!!!
