I didn’t know much about the history of Cambodia or the temples when my husband told me we were making a stop at Siem Reap, Cambodia to visit the temples and specifically Angkors Wat while we were traveling around SEA on vacation. I’m so glad I didn’t research before hand because he booked a private tour guide to visit several of the temples here. We were blessed to have Nak as our guide. He was not only very attentive, he was knowledgeable about the history and had a great sense of humor making us feel very welcome and like we had met before. It was so educational for me and has peaked my interest to do more homework to learn more about the culture, beliefs and the history of this country. The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.
Angkor Wat
Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.
Angkor Thom South Gate
We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge.
Bayon Temple
Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments
Terrace of the Elephants
and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king.
Ta Prohm Temple
In Ta Prohm, get enchanted with the sight of the ruins taken over by tree roots, a demonstration of the awesome power of nature. Learn how the controversial site was left by French archaeologists to the destructive power of the jungle. Return to your hotel after tour.

Outstanding private Tuk-Tuk Tour
We had a wonderful experience visiting Angkor Wat with our guide Sath, and Tuk-tuk driver Mr. Cheat. Sath was very informed of the region and history of the historical sites we visited and provided much needed context to the extremely intricate carvings. Sath made the early pickup up easy and the ride was smooth and comfortable. After every temple visit Mr Cheat met us back at the tuk-tuk with cold water bottles and cold wash clothes - a great refreshment for a very hot day. Would recommend Sath and Mr Cheat to everyone looking for a great private tour of Angkor Wat.

Friendly, transparent and helpful
We were incredibly lucky to have Narin as our tuk-tuk driver for three days in Siem Reap, and he was absolutely exceptional. His local knowledge made such a difference to our experience. He knew the best times to visit different places, helped us avoid the busiest periods where possible, and made sure we were in the right place at the right time. He spoke very good English and was always happy to share his knowledge and answer our questions. When our plans changed, Narin was completely flexible and accommodating. Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. He was also incredibly thoughtful and attentive throughout our three days, always making sure we had plenty of cold water and refreshing cool wipes waiting for us after exploring in the heat. Those little touches were so appreciated. Narin's pricing was very fair, and he was always honest and completely transparent about costs. We felt comfortable and well looked after with him from the beginning. Reliable, knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful and genuinely lovely to spend time with. Wonderful experience with Bunrong as our guide. Bunrong was very knowledgeable and flexible to our interests. We wanted to visit Angkor Centre for Conservation and Biodiversity in addition to a number of Angkor Wat temples. We visited four temples and loved his depth of knowledge of each temple. He had great sense of humor which made it a fun day .

Fantastic tour of Angkor wat with our guide Sath
We had an amazing tour with our wonderful guide Sath and excellent driver Mr. Cheat. The tour of Angkor Wat and surrounding temples was a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide Sath spoke great English and knew just the perfect places to take us. He was so patient, especially since my husband needed to rest frequently. Our photos were so amazing- Sath knew just where to take the best shots and took photos with my phone for us. Seeing Angkor Wat by tuk tuk is so fun and our local lunch spot was fantastic. Absolutely recommend this tor and especially our guide Sath and driver Mr. Cheat.
