Kayaking in the Mangroves Experience

This was truly a unique and wonderful experience. Had two teenagers with us, but honestly could work with younger kids on a two person kayak. The mangrove forest was so unique and beautiful. Victor taught us all about the environment in this location as well as snapping a few amazing drone pictures of us. Having lunch with the fishermen in their village was such a treat as well. We would all recommend this experience a million times!!!!

We had a great time on our tour of the Costa Maya mangroves. Highlights included learning how to properly harvest a coconut for its water and meat. After that, we went kayaking through the mangroves while a local family cooked a fresh fish and coconut rice meal using the coconut we prepared. The mangroves were very peaceful and serene, while the water was interestingly red due to the rainy season. Afterward, we returned to the beachhouse where the meal was being prepared and let the kids explore the beach. There was a surprising amount of seashells and coral scattered along the beach that the kids enjoyed discovering. After the beach, we had the freshly prepared fish meal, where we got to make tacos with the rice, pico, and delicious salsa. Our guide, Victor, was very friendly and knowledgeable. It is obvious that he has a passion for conservation and helping out his community. We really enjoyed our time and wish Victor the best.

This was the best excursion we’ve done. I cannot recommend this enough. Victor was amazing. His love for the area and passion for people, animals, and plants is contagious. Kayaking through mangroves was a rare experience. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The lunch of fish and coconut rice was delicious. I highly recommend this activity!

By far the best trip you'll ever get. Sofia takes you away from the tourist area and makes you feel like a friend. We had an entire beach to ourselves!

Victor Rosales is a true gem of the Yucatan! He is kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about this beautiful place. We went kayaking in the mangroves. What a day that was! Victor took care of everything, making it a great experience for all of us - even those of us who were older and not quite as agile as we once were! His love of this area is contagious - he is a one-man ecological wonder! The lunch we shared with his fishermen friends was a highlight of the trip. He took wonderful photos for us to remember the day. All around a fabulous experience. I would highly recommend him as a guide and look forward to meeting up with him again.
