Unfortunately, I would not recommend this activity as our outing unfolded. The guide was all alone for everything, so we started more than half an hour late and you could tell he was rushed, poor guy. We returned to dry land much earlier than scheduled, since we finished carrying the kayaks up (uphill, they weigh a lot and if you are not used to it, it becomes almost impossible) at 1:40 PM. In short, out of a 4-hour activity, we enjoyed at most 3, if it even reached that. The guide was very kind, I have no complaints about that, I just think that perhaps having started late, he rushed and did not wait for everyone to start giving explanations at each stop. My brother and I had difficulty keeping up with the pace, and we did not hear any of them. The caves part was not what we expected, they were barely a couple of openings in the rock, although perhaps it had to do with the state of the sea. We had imagined something more spectacular. Regarding the ‘picnic’, the guide stopped by the supermarket before leaving and returned with several packages of cookies and two of nuts; the fruit that is advertised, unfortunately, we didn't see anywhere. That said, there was plenty of water for everyone and I think the amount of food he bought was more than enough, the thing is that not all of us could eat the cookies and the fresh fruit was a great incentive for a hot day that didn't arrive. This is independent of the company, but I have to say that the water in the area is somewhat dirty and the swimming area is not especially appealing, especially in Tiritaña, which was the destination beach to relax halfway through the trip. Upon arriving at the beach, the guide offered us equipment for different activities, nothing organized but a nice touch. The only thing is that for snorkeling he only brought 3 masks, and there were about 14 of us so they were insufficient, perhaps they could have given us one per kayak (I think it was the most requested activity). We had a small incident (not the guide's fault), while taking the kayaks out of the water to Tiritaña beach. One of my companions dropped the kayak on her toe, which after spending the afternoon in the emergency room turned out to be broken. What disappointed us in this case was the lack of action (and I imagine resources) on the part of the guide. This person had to return by kayak like the others, and there was no management on the part of the company. Our request was that they take her to the company's insurance doctor, but apparently it does not apply if the accident was not caused by the guide's negligence. I think they thought we were asking for compensation when we asked about the insurance, but that was not the idea. A surprise is advertised at the end of the trip that never came, unless it was that we had to carry the kayaks down and up the slope to the beach ourselves. Aside from the fact that I think it might be better if there were two people, or at least that there was a support person for handling the kayaks (with help from the participants who could as well, of course), I make a suggestion that I don't know if it will be possible for you, but on some other kayak trips I have done, the guides went by motor and thus had the possibility of towing whoever needed it at any time. This would make it easier for the whole group to go more evenly and in case of an emergency it is also a safety support.
Hi, good afternoon. Thank you for joining us and for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry the activity didn’t live up to your expectations. Everyone experiences an activity differently: what feels just right for some participants may fall short for others. Either way, we appreciate your comments, as they help us keep improving. Regarding your broken toe, this is the first time we’ve heard about it. During the activity, you only told us that you were experiencing some pain, but you never contacted us afterwards to say that a fracture had been diagnosed. If pain continues, the appropriate thing to do is seek medical attention. Without any follow-up communication or medical information, we’re unable to assess what happened or accept responsibility for it. As for using a motorboat, we understand your suggestion. However, our activities take place in natural surroundings and we aim to keep their environmental impact to a minimum. We don’t believe using a motorboat is necessary or consistent with that approach on a short, safe route—especially as we already have an emergency protocol and a rescue service that can be activated immediately with a phone call. Kind regards.
