An absolute must-do! The best way to experience Kathmandu
If you really want to understand the heart of Kathmandu, this walking tour is essential. Navigating the maze-like streets and bustling markets on your own can be overwhelming, but our guide made it an absolute breeze. We explored hidden courtyards, ancient stupas, and vibrant spice markets (like Ason and Indra Chowk) that we never would have found on our own. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing deep insights into the local culture, architecture, and history of the Kathmandu Valley. They also gave us great recommendations for local food. Highly recommend booking this on your first or second day in the city!

The walking tour with Sangita
It happened to be Mother’s Day when we did the walk so there were special sweet treats being sold. Also more temples were open so we could see and participate in certain rituals. The walk incorporated interesting places and people and sangita was very knowledgeable and willing to share her passion for her country. I would highly recommend this tour during your stay in Kathmandu as a way of discovering many hidden gems in this beautiful city.

Great Tour Great Guide
What a great way to experience the back streets of Kathmandu. Sangita has a wealth of knowledge and explained things I didn't know. I loved seeing the local markets and the sellers peddling their wares. It truly is a wonderful experience. Highly recommend you contact Sangit at Himalayan Namobuddha Travel and Treks.

Great tour Great guide
Loved my walking tour with Sangita she told me lots of things I didn't know. She spoke of her culture and explained the caste system which was interesting.
We went to some places most tourists wouldn't see and I got to see locals selling their wares in traditional markets.

Private Walking tour of Kathmandu
Sangita was our personal guide in our private walking tour. I was amazed at how she navigated through what looked like a maze of streets. She showed us the ancient city of Kathmandu and it felt like I was transported back in time. Communities here still work like it did many years ago and that was fascinating. Temples, courtyards surrounded by houses and a community temple, numerous small quaint shops selling condiments, spices and groceries. It was such an interesting experience.

Great pre-work walking tour
Sangita organized and led a great last-minute walking tour through the streets of Kathmandu before work. She is very knowledgeable and kind and showed where her family lived. Can highly recommend this as a way to learn a bit about the city, its architecture, the culture, people, and places.

Excellent guided tour of Nepal
Our trip to Nepal was great, with the help of Sangita we had the perfect itinerary for us, that combined local cooking classes, treks exactly to our level, and personal guided tour in the bustling city streets of Kathmandu and Patan.
Sangita is a great communicator and planner, she was always on top of things and supported us at each step of the trip.
