Itinerary
Our route goes toward eastern side of the country, to the region that has a lot to offer. After a hour drive through the kakhetian villages, vineyards, valleys and mountains we reach our first destination, Manavi fortress that is overlooking vineyards and offering amazing views of the fertile valleys. Manavi fortress is an ideal place for introducing Georgian viticulture history.
After exploring the fortress, it’s time to immerse yourself in an authentic Georgian wine experience. In a charming, family-run cellar. Here, a young, passionate winemaker welcomes you with open arms, ready to share the magic that has been passed down for generations. The winemaker will personally guide you through his vineyard and wine cellar, sharing the secrets of Georgia’s ancient winemaking traditions. Following this enriching tour, you’ll enter an ancestral wine cellar, where ancient Georgian techniques bring wine to life. Savor three exquisite wines, each telling the story of the land, the people, and the love that goes into each bottle. To complete the experience, a shot of fiery chacha will awaken your senses, while local snacks enhance the flavors of each sip, leaving you with a true taste of Georgia’s rich heritage.
After our wine tasting, we journey to a village where time-honored traditions come to life. Here, the aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air as it emerges from a clay oven. You’ll not only witness this ancient craft but can even take part in it yourself. Then, with a piece of warm bread in hand, we’ll savor the rich, creamy flavors of locally made sheep and cow cheese—a simple yet unforgettable taste of Georgia’s heart and soul.
Our journey continues to the enchanting fortified town of Sighnaghi, lovingly known as the “City of Love.” With its beautifully preserved 18th- and 19th-century architecture and a touch of Tuscan charm, it is the most picturesque town in the Kakheti region. Ornate balconies, cobblestone streets, and intricately restored facades create an atmosphere of romance and timeless beauty. A highlight of any visit is climbing the ancient city walls, where breathtaking panoramic views of the Alazani Valley unfold like a masterpiece before your eyes.
The day’s culinary highlight is a visit to a local family’s home, where you’ll be treated to a warm, home-cooked feast. The meal will showcase the authentic flavors of Kakhetian cuisine, prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. This intimate experience, filled with hearty food, welcoming hospitality, and fine wine, will undoubtedly become a cherished memory of your Kakheti journey.
Our final stop is the serene Bodbe Convent, a place of deep spiritual significance and breathtaking beauty. Nestled on a hillside overlooking the Alazani Valley, this sacred site is the resting place of St. Nino, the beloved evangelizer of Georgia. Surrounded by lush gardens and ancient cypress trees, the convent exudes a sense of peace and devotion. Whether drawn by faith, history, or the tranquil atmosphere, visitors find a moment of reflection and awe in this timeless sanctuary.
After a day filled with breathtaking views, rich history, and unforgettable flavors, your driver-guide will escort you back to your hotel, ensuring you are left with lasting memories of the beautiful Kakheti region and its wine, cuisine, and warm hospitality.

A great private tour. We had Mamuka as our guide who was very knowledgeable and passionate about Georgian history and winemaking. You will also be treated to an excellent meal at a family's house. Wholeheartedly recommend!
Alex was an excellent guide and driver. The modern car was clean and comfortable with cold water provided. We felt special as Alex took us to places tourists don’t usually go. I particularly enjoyed sharing wine with Sandro in his back garden and the toast he made. The next winery also had lovely wine and more food.
Great! Would book again, good value and amazing host
We had an amazing day out with Alex! He was an attentive and gracious host, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Also a great historian, and he provided the most objective and informative perspective on Georgian history that we’d heard. All the sites on the tour was superb, but the highlights were the incredible feast at the village courtesy of Giga's parents, and wine tasting at the premium family-run winery Muzzé. Highly recommend!
We had the most amazing private tour organised by Giga for my Mother's 60th birthday. Our guide Georgio was fantastic, such great company and super knowledgable about Georgia history and wine making (also a very good driver!) The highlight for us was the meal at the local village winemakers house - the food was the best we had in Georgia and fully accomodated us being vegetarian. The wine was equally as excellent and always flowing, not an empty glass in sight! The setting in the garden was idealic, sat in the shade with chick's roaming around. The final stop at the vineyard ran by two brothers was also incredible - talking us through the wine making process and their special family story carrying on their father's legacy. The wine was excellent - both Georgian style and European style. Their sparkling wine was dangerously delicious! It was an all round magical day, I couldn't recommend it enough. Don't think twice about going on this tour!
We really enjoyed the experience. The program of the tour was well-structured, with just enough activities but not overwhelming. The fact that the tour is private also allowed for flexibility to stay longer or shorter in places depending on how we felt. The transfer car was very comfortable. Giga provided information along the tour and was ready to answer questions, but didn’t overload us with information, which we also appreciated. Giga is very friendly and thoughtful. The highlight of the trip was a lunch prepared by his family in a beautiful peaceful garden. The food was amazing, with authentic tastes. We also really enjoyed the Vellini winery included in the program — it’s one of the smaller ones and has probably the best wines we’ve ever tried in Georgia, much higher quality than usual.
We had an excellent private tour of Kakheti with Giorgi as both our driver and guide. He was punctual, friendly, funny, and spoke very good English, which made the whole day easy and enjoyable. The driving was very safe and comfortable, with good air conditioning and a relaxed pace throughout the day. Giorgi was also very knowledgeable, explaining Georgian history, wine culture, and the places we visited without ever over-talking. He gave great recommendations, helped with photos, and made the experience feel personal rather than rushed. We visited several small and medium-sized family wineries, and also had lunch at a local family house, which was one of the highlights of the day. On the way back, Giorgi mentioned a large church nearby, and when I asked if we could make a short stop, he happily did it free of charge despite the extra hassle and showed us around properly. Highly recommended.
The best experience and tour we have been on in Georgia. Very well thought out with a great number of stops and information. We went to lots of places we wouldn’t have otherwise, and was great to get off the usual tourist trail and stops. Giga was a fantastic guide and we are very grateful. A unique experience and a must do in Georgia! Thank you so much
This tour was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip to Georgia! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, and our guide was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. His passion for Georgian culture, history, and winemaking made every stop along the way even more special. The absolute highlight of the day was the wonderful lunch at our guide’s own winery. We were treated to authentic homemade Georgian dishes, all freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. The hospitality was exceptional, making us feel more like guests of the family than tourists. The wine tasting was equally impressive – we sampled several excellent wines, each with its own unique character, and it was fascinating to hear the stories and traditions behind them. The rest of the tour was just as memorable. The breathtaking views of the Alazani Valley, the charming streets of Sighnaghi, the historic sites, and the authentic local experiences made this a truly unforgettable day. Every location we visited was beautiful and offered a deeper insight into the rich culture and traditions of Kakheti. If you are looking for an authentic, high-quality experience away from the typical tourist crowds, this tour is an absolute must. A huge thank you to our guide for his outstanding hospitality, expertise, and for sharing his winery, wines, and culture with us. Highly recommended! Giga is a masterclass⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Excellent tour. Giga, our tour guide was very professional and knowledgeable. It was a great way to see Kakheti and to enjoy the Georgian hospitality. The lunch at the family's house was amazing with lots of great home-cooked food. We enjoyed wine tasting at two different vineyards as well as learning about Georgian wine making. I would definitely recommend this tour, and it was the highlight of our time in Georgia.
