Kakadu Day Tour from Darwin with Offroad Dreaming

Description
Experience the World Heritage Kakadu National Park on this interactive day tour from Darwin. On this small group Kakadu day tour, your Offroad Dreaming Guide will interpret for you, the Ancient Artworks at the Ubirr Rock Art Sites, spend time with the Artworks at ground level, or climb to the top to view the 360' lookout over the Wetlands from the Nadab lookout, join the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise on the East Alligator River, to hear about the history and culture of the people and the land and take up their invitation for a step into Arnhem Land, where there will be a cultural demonstration. Your professional guide will take you through the day, sharing with you knowledge and stories as you go. During March and April, we will revert to our equally in depth wet season itinerary for the Kakadu Day Tour. This will include visiting the Rock Art Galleries at Burrungkuy, Nourlangie Rock, instead of Ubirr and we will take the Yellow Waters Billabong Cruise instead of the Guluyambi Cruise.

This trip is the best way to see the heart of the Kakadu
JB, our bus driver and tour guide for the day, was brilliant right from pickup. It was an early start, but he put everyone in a great mood straight away. He knows the area inside out and kept things entertaining without talking just for the sake of it. The walk at Ubirr was breathtaking. JB explained the ancient rock art, local birds and all of the trees we were walking amongst while keeping a close eye on an older member of our group who needed a bit of a hand on the rocks. Finishing that walk to find picnic tables set up with tablecloths, fresh salads, and roast chicken was such a great touch. The guide for the river cruise part of the day was Tyrone, a local man from Arnhem Land. He had a great, dry sense of humour and shared his stories with us as we navigated the river full of crocodiles. He even gave us a spear-throwing demonstration. Comfortable bus, fantastic guides, and great lunch and snacks. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better day out.
Cultural experience in a friendly atmosphere with guides who take great care of us. The trip to get to Kakadu does not seem long at all. Nice little stop at a typical roadside restaurant along the Arnhem HW. Delicious little picnic on site, fruity and refreshing dessert on the way back from Ubirr. Enriching river cruise between Arnhem Land and Kakadu, enhanced by explanations from our dedicated Aboriginal guide and pilot.
Amazing tour. Norm our guide was very entertaining and informative. We were VERY well looked after. Pick up was on time, bus was comfortable, food was plentiful.
Action packed, aboriginal artwork was incredible. East Adelaide River cruise was phenomenal and very interesting
Of the 3 recent tours we did from Darwin to the surrounding national parks this one took our preference well above the others
Norm is a star - knowledgeable guide, welcoming host, careful driver and great chef! Four friends thoroughly enjoyed this tour to a beautiful part of the NT. If you are wondering whether the tour to Kakadu for a day is too far from Darwin, the tour is well worth the trip. You will learn about Indigenous culture, be guided on the East Alligator River by an Indigenous operated business and deepen your appreciation of the beauty of the Territory. Norm has the rare skill of remembering names and the right balance of information, fun facts and his own story. He is funny, respectful and professional. Highly recommend!
Amazing tour to Kakadu National Park and fantastic East Alligator river boat cruise, worth making a short film. Learnt a lot about Aboriginal culture, history, Northern Territory, and flora and fauna. Thanks a lot to Nifty, and Norm for the great stories. Would definitely recommend.
Great trip excellent tour guide.
Nifty and Norm organised a well planned day tour of Kakadu National Park. The food was fresh and well selected. Pick ups were from the accommodation accordingly. I was dropped off at Mindill Beach allowing me to explore Darwin further. Norm was particularly insightful and knowledgeable of the history and made my first visit to Darwin and the Kakadu National Park memorable. I didn't feel rushed and had an opportunity to explore on my visit. I certainly enjoyed the Boat ride along Esst Crocodile River, led by Hilton from the Guluyambi group.
