ANDREW IS THE BEST TOUR GUIDE EVER!! 🙌🏼 He was super friendly, incredibly knowledgeable about the island, and took us to some of the most breathtaking views. He made the entire experience so much fun and truly unforgettable. I will DEFINITELY be booking with him again the next time I come back! 10/10 recommend! 🌴✨

Fun trip from bottom to top of Catalina Island

This is a fun tour that gets you around the island from bottom to top to bottom again with terrific views. Some areas we went to would have required a hiking or bicycle permit and taken long hours. Our tour guide Bear drove us all around, and told us stories about life on the island and its history.

My husband and I did the Lands's End tour with Cindy as our guide. It was such an awesome tour. We saw the island from bottom to top, the drive and biews were so exciting. Lots of beautiful photo opportunities, Cindy L. made the tour very special with her unique witty style. Cindy not only provided a history of the island but of the locals, including herself. If you ask nicely, she me even sing for you. The tour is an excellent value: you see Catalina Island from the highest points, you feel like you're on top of the world. The drive can be bumpy, like a roller-coaster, very exhilarating. I highly recommend this tour, especially with Cindy.

An unforgettable island tour

Cindy Lowe is a fabulous tour guide who enthusiastically shares her extensive knowledge of the island’s history and its plants and animals. A natural entertainer, Cindy captivates passengers by weaving humor and witty banter into her discussions to create an unforgettable tour for all. Exciting Adventure You Don’t Want To Miss

This was a fantastic ride in a hummer with our driver, Andrew. He was very knowledgeable and experienced. The hummer held about 10 people and we were driven to the crest of the hills on Catalina Island. Andrew had the correct music to go along with every dip, turn, bump and dive. This is an off road trip with an experienced driver. Folks who are afraid of heights or cannot tolerate bumpy roads should not take this trip. For everyone else, it is an adrenaline rush with magnificent views of the island. I highly recommend this adventure. It was one of my favorite excursions and I am a worldly traveler. We were lucky enough to see a male bison up close and personal. .

Ask for Cindy!! Fun ride for the whole family!

Cindy is an awesome tour guide! I would take any tour with her as a guide. She is super knowledgeable, very punny (yes, punny), and as a former jazz singer even sang a bit for the group! We had a great time. I have 8 and 12 year old boys and they had a blast on the bumpy ride. It was a great mix of fun and education for both kids and adults, especially as a parent of active boys who are easily bored. We even saw a bison, even though that doesn’t typically happen on this tour.

Definitely take this tour!

This tour is a must do when you're in Avalon. Halvy, the tour guide and driver, is a treasure to Catalina Island. You can tell he enjoys his job and knows everything about the island. The ride is a little bit bumpy and it does go up really high so if you have any motion or fear of heights issues, this might not be the best for you. The tour travels around the mountain range in Avalon and along the way you get to learn history and conservancy efforts on the island. Don't even think twice just book it!

Operator response

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. We are happy to see you enjoyed the tour with Halvy!

Great way to spend the day on Catalina Island

What a great way to spend a few hours on Catalina Island. Our driver, Bear, was knowledgeable in the history, horticulture and wildlife on the island. It was great to see the "untamed" parts of the small island that has one town and two harbors. The open air humvee takes you all through the winding and twisted trail/path that traverses a good part of the mountainous land up to the point where you can see both sides of the narrow island from one vantage point. Bear pointed out hiking trails, historical buildings, land ownership, water supply information, resources, plants and animals all along the way. We were worried about how rough the ride would be since the booking information includes a disclaimer about back and neck pain/injury. Not to worry! The humvee bounces but not at a rate that causes any physical harm. Time well spent and greatly enjoyed!

Operator response

Highly Recommended!

Probably the best part of Catalina Island. Riding in an open air humvee with narration by our driver, we learned a lot about the history and land of Santa Catalina Island. Most of the island is uninhabited and beautiful to see. The humvee takes you to the top where you can see both sides of the island at the same time. Pretty cool. The ride is bumpy and the website/reservation system warns that if you have back or neck problems, this is not for you. That being said, if you're worried because you're a little older and have aches and pains, you can do it! We were worried having read the cautions but didn't feel like we were unnecessarily bounced or thrown about. Two hours, well spent enjoying the best of Catalina.

Operator response
