Jan Miřacký - Excellent Prague Photo Tours
I took Jan’s photo tour of Prague, and it was outstanding. Jan is a fantastic guide and teacher—he asked about our background as photographers, spent individual time with each of us to understand our background, and helped us use our cameras much more effectively. Our route offered photo opportunities at unique, off-the-beaten-path locations as well as prime spots for classic Prague shots.
At each stop, he explained why he brought us there, offered creative ideas for composition, showed us examples of his own photos, and suggested camera settings. I learned new techniques and got to practice skills I’d forgotten. At the end, he gave us a great list of additional locations to shoot after the tour.
We covered a lot of ground in 2.5 hours—far more than I could have managed on my own—and it was simply fun to shoot alongside fellow photographers.
Highly recommended!

A great photography experience in Prague—highly recommended!
I had a great photo tour with Jan Miřacký of Johnny’s Prague Photo Tours during my visit to Prague last week. Jan is an excellent guide, teacher, and shooting companion. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with him, photographing the city and learning more about cityscape photography.
A highlight was working with ND filters for long-exposure photography. We used a 6-stop filter during the tour, and I came away with a better understanding of the technique and how to apply it to my own photography, including using a 10-stop ND filter in daylight. Jan made the learning practical, enjoyable, and easy to understand.
I highly recommend Jan and Johnny’s Prague Photo Tours to anyone who wants to photograph Prague while developing their skills. His combination of teaching, guidance, and good company made this a terrific experience. I would gladly book another tour with him.

How to Capture Iconic Prague Vistas

Outstanding Photography, location and experience, Tour
My wife and I recently had a private tour Jan. Due to vacation plans we chose a morning tour. Jan was very efficient in responding to questions prior to the tour and provided detailed information for the tour. I had a user error in using the information but Jan was very kind in walking us through that.
The tour was excellent. We made five to six locations and Jan offered great insight and guidance to assure we had the best opportunity for images. While on the tour the light over the Charles Bridge blew up and Jan immediately knew of a location for fantastic views which did not include any other photographers. A really cool experience.
Jan is obviously a skilled photographer. A quick review of his gallery illustrates that point. However, he is an even better person. Quick wit, and friendly, Jan was a pleasure throughout the tour. He provided local knowledge as well as superb photography tips and insights.
If you're in Prague, Jan offers great photography in Prague. Highly recommend this tour!
Operator response
Danny, thank you so much for these kind words! That morning sky over Charles Bridge was truly a gift, and I'm thrilled we could dash to the perfect spot to capture it without the crowds. Moments like that are exactly why I love what I do. It was a pleasure sharing tips on exposure and composition with you, and even more so sharing some laughs along the way. Your recommendation means a great deal to me. I hope to welcome you back to Prague for another shoot someday. Best, Jan

Seeing Prague with Experienced Photographer
I selected a 3‑hour photography tour with Johnny and it exceeded all expectations. Despite my injured knee, Johnny was incredibly thoughtful and adjusted the pace and route so I could still cover a surprising amount of ground. His knowledge of photography is exceptional — he doesn’t just point out locations, he teaches you how to see them. He encourages you to think about how you compose a shot, what settings will work best, and why.
I finished the tour with photos I’m genuinely proud of, and I even returned to some of the same spots the next night when the light was better and captured even more stunning images of Prague.
I could have spent three full days with Johnny and still not uncovered all the magic this city holds. A brilliant experience for any photographer.
Operator response
Betty, thank you so much. What stays with me from our evening together is that you didn't let the knee slow you down for a second — and then went back the next night to chase better light. That's exactly the mindset that makes a photographer.
I'm glad you left with images you're proud of. And you're right, three days wouldn't be enough for Prague either. Wishing you a smooth recovery in September.
Best,
Jan

Amazing photographer, patient teacher and well prepared and thought-thru tour
I visited Prague for the first time and took a 1:1 photo walking tour with Johnny/Jan. It was a blast and I really enjoyed it. He is very patient and gave practical tips. He poses simple questions to make a person think and that will likely make me remember things.
He also gave a few exercises that are also useful. He asked me about my level and skills so that he could customize and was well-prepared about the walking route and where to go. Clearly he has done this several times before because he knew about good spots.
Operator response
Thank you, Gaurav, for such a thoughtful review 😊 I’m really glad the practical tips, simple questions, and exercises helped you think differently about photography, and that the route felt well planned and efficient even in Prague’s summer heat. I’d be happy to photo walk with you again someday if the logistics work out—Best, Jan

Nice, fun and a good teacher.
Jan was sooo nice and helpful. While I consider myself a very experienced photographer, he taught me more than a few things and techniques. I cannot recommend him highly enough. You will not be disappointed.
