Saryeoni Forest Path is a forest walking trail that starts from Bijarim-ro and goes through Mulchat Oreum Volcanic Cone and Saryeoni Oreum Volcanic Cone. Its starting point is located at National Road No. 1112, which is thick with cedars. A variety of species of trees grow in the forest, such as Konara Oak, Red-Leaved Hornbeam, Snowbell, Hinoki Cypress, and cedar. The average altitude is 550m.
Seongeup Folk Village is a small town that holds a vast amount of culture over a wide period of time from 1410 to 1914. Cultural properties in the folk village have been handed down from generation to generation and include treasures such as residential houses, Confucian shrines and schools, ancient government offices, stone statues, large millstones (pulled by horses or ox), fortress ruins, and stone monuments. Among the cultural gems of the folk village are intangible cultural assets such as folk plays, native foods, local folk craftsmanship, and local dialect. Even the trees are an important part of the area’s heritage. Several zelkova and nettle trees that are hundreds of years old stand at the center of the village, preserving the dignified atmosphere of a bygone era. The Seongeup Folk Village shows the unique culture of Jeju Island. The local tongsi (traditional Jeju restroom) are especially well-known characteristics of Jeju folk culture.

Seongsan sunrise peak [Seongsan Ilchul-bong Peak] rose from under the sea in a volcanic eruption over 5,000 years ago. Located on the eastern end of Jejudo Island, it looks like a gigantic crown. The ridge provides an ideal spot for walks and for horse riding as well.
Seopjikoji, which is located on the east coast of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, is a beautiful coastline filled with canola flowers during the spring, Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak rising up in the background, and the stunning Sinyang Beach nearby. Here you can see the traditional beauties of Jeju, such as a vast land filled with canola flowers growing on the hill, Jeju ponies grazing peacefully, beautiful rocky cliffs, and the legendary Seonbawi Rock standing in the middle of the ocean. What makes Seopjikoji different from other coasts in Jejudo Island is that it is made of red volcanic ash called “scoria”, and possesses strange rock formations that only show themselves when the tide is low are unique.
Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, which is 180m above sea level, erupted underwater in the ocean about 5,000 years ago. This makes it a very rare case among the many craters in Jeju Island. Though people used to farm in the crater, it is now a natural habitat for 200 types of vegetation such as silvergrass and giant angelica, among others, as well as a natural habitat for a variety of wild animals. In popular culture, a scene in the movie ‘Lee Chang-ho’s Baseball Team’ (directed by Lee Chang-ho) was filmed here. Seongsan Ilchulbong has long been considered one of the top scenic destinations in Korea. It attracts millions of visitors a year, many of whom climb to the top for the breathtaking panoramic view of the ocean, Udo Island, Hallasan Mountain, and the volcanic landscape of the east.

The guide made us wait an hour and 45 minutes to see the divers. He suggested that we go shopping which we had no interest in doing. We did have lunch which took 20 minutes. That left us an hour and 25 minutes to do nothing.

According to the guide, he accompanied you throughout the tour and provided explanations at each place. As an additional service, he also took a longer route to show you Hamdeok Beach and Dongmun Market. Today (Monday), the Haenyeo Museum is closed. Therefore, the guide planned to show you the Haenyeo performance at Seongsan Ilchulbong instead, which starts at 14:00. The guide mentioned that lunch finished earlier than expected (around 20 minutes), so there was still about 1 hour and 30 minutes remaining before the performance. During that time, you mentioned that you would like to look around the nearby souvenir shops while waiting for the show, so the guide gave you some free time and waited nearby. During the 1 hour and 30 minutes of free time, the guide had not eaten yet either, so he had a quick meal in the car with some food he had brought with him. After the waiting time, he accompanied you again to watch the Haenyeo show. It seems there may have been some misunderstanding, so we wanted to provide this explanation. The guide we introduced is a very kind and honest person. It does not seem that he had any bad intentions, so we kindly ask for your understanding. We are in Jeju for 3 days and the oppa driver was very friendly and helpful. He is the one who helps us plan for itenery and suggest places for us to visit when there are extra time. Our dedicated driver is Mr. Oppa Chen Chang. We're all in Jiangsu for the first time, and Uncle is always careful to help us arrange or rationalize our trip (e.g. on the third day, it will be dark and the temperature will drop, we will delay the shopping trip ahead of time; knowing that we are from Hong Kong, we will be worried we are not used to the relatively cold weather). Even when we're off work, we'll be worried that we're having trouble getting Uber back to Airbnb, and want to communicate with the vendors at the place to eat first. There is a sense of being loved by the elderly, is a detailed arrangement under mutual respect.
