Near-death experience for €70 - But ignoring this mistake, actually a good tour
This review is difficult for me to write. You will find out why as you read on.
I will start with the positive. In doing so, I am evaluating the planned tour purely objectively, including most of the guides.
The shuttle was already at my hotel ahead of schedule; since I unfortunately arrived too late, I missed the pickup. The German-speaking woman who picked me up still drove to my hotel a second time to take me along. - Without any anger or other inconveniences. I am very grateful to her for that. - When we arrived at the meeting point, I was assigned to another jeep. For me, unfortunately, one with only a Spanish-speaking guide and a few Spanish/English-speaking guests. I found it very unfortunate that only Spanish was spoken in the car the whole time, as I couldn't follow any conversation or connect with anyone. However, I am aware that this is also always dependent on the guests.
The tour was varied with a few viewpoints, a beautiful route, and some off-road roads. When a break was taken, there was also a group for each language with a corresponding guide.
Most of the guides were very friendly and really pleasant. Thank you very much.
Now to the negative part of my review.
I do not know how to put it into words. But the group in my jeep almost died today. Anyone reading this might think now. He is just completely exaggerating; it could not have been that bad. I do not know. Tell me. I would like to describe what happened.
The driver of my jeep, a relatively young man, let himself be persuaded by guests to drive more and more riskily. Accelerate more, fall back in order to then be able to speed up, etc. I understand that he wanted to offer the guests an experience. But in doing so, a guide MUST NOT overestimate himself. And unfortunately, our guide did that. On a supposedly straight stretch with slight curves, he started to accelerate strongly and drift slightly. Deliberately. Which he regretted just seconds later, however, as he immediately lost control of the vehicle. So we skidded at excessive speed and half-spinning toward the unsecured abyss, while our guide still did not regain control of the vehicle. At the seemingly last moment, the vehicle caught the ground again and we steered away from the abyss toward the opposite rock wall. We subsequently crashed into this as well. The road we were driving on dropped off about 100 meters into the depths on the side. That would have been our certain death.
Such an incident MUST simply not happen on a tour like this. The guide also apologized profusely afterward. But sorry. There are 6 vacationers sitting in a jeep. In the jeep were 18-year-olds, a mother, etc.
It could have been children as well.
I am writing this review because I could NEVER in my life forgive myself for not having said anything and then next week vacationers on the same trip actually crash.
I am including as pictures an image of the damaged jeep and an image of the spot where I would roughly describe the accident, although I could not reconstruct it exactly.
Excellent trip. Saw loads and the off-road was very exciting with amazing scenery. Trip was 5.5hrs - could consider making it a bit longer (to give more time at the stops), but to be honest 5.5hrs in the sun (open roof) was enough ! Had a fantastic time - a memorable adventure..

Nice ride, beautiful experience
Fun tour with the 4x4. Too bad the driver didn't tell anything at all, but luckily drove fine.
The "guide" Paul told quite a bit during the stops.
Off the road was a fun experience. Exciting but not irresponsible driving behavior.

Gran Canaria 4x4 Jeep Trip
Last minute trip booked to see more of the island. Pick up was arranged near our villa. We were met by Charles who was energetic and lots of fun. We shared the jeep with 2 other passengers who were lovely. We had the best guide out of the group of Jeeps very knowledgeable. Would like to have spent more time in the villages but understand we had an agenda. It was a great trip seeing a different part of the middle of the island which was very rugged and beautiful.
I would recommend this trip,

Absolutely fantastic!!
We were picked up on time and directly in front of the hotel. Our guide was very funny and laid-back. The tour itself was very worthwhile and definitely worth it!!
Thank you very much for the lovely day.

Misclassified
Jeep safari has NOT taken place. Was booked incorrectly so we were brought back to our hotel. Tomorrow we'll get another chance to experience it.

Land Rovers (not Jeeps!)
Booked pre holiday, and glad we did. What a great way to see the Island. A fleet of Land Rover Defenders took us around, stopping for a quick lunch break in Santa Lucia, and at an Aloe Vera farm. With short stops along the way to see the views and get the history. The fact it was in Solihull's finest and not Jeeps made it for me 🤣
