During my time in Bath I studied the history of Bath, its architects and residents who made this UNESCO World Heritage City a historical jewel. The legacy of Jane Austen’s writing and reading her novels inspired me to gain extensive knowledge about her time before and while she lived in Bath and after leaving Bath as well as the significance Bath had on her writing.
Tour reviews underline my unique approach catering to individual personal or group needs, expectations and appreciations .

Jane Austen and Bath tour
This was an extremely informative tour with an intersection of Bath history with information of Austen’s life along with places she lived and stayed in Bath. The knowledge I received on the tour helped me understand her perspective when she wrote her novels in an incredible way. It made me appreciate her life and her work in a new way. Highly recommend this tour!

Very good introduction to Jane Austen’s Bath.
This was a really enjoyable guided walk which took in a wide range of Bath locations, mainly, but not exclusively related to Jane Austen. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. I would, ideally, have enjoyed more direct references to the scenes in Persuasion and Northanger Abbey which were set in Bath - actual locations where characters lived or visited.

Deep history of Jane Austen and Bath
Ulrich was incredibly well informed and took us deep into Jane Austen and her relationship to Bath. We spent almost three hours with him and enjoyed every minute of it. He knew so much about Bath and Jane and had a real passion for the subject. Highly recommended,

Lots of walking, lots of history!
I really enjoyed this walking tour of Bath. The city itself is beautiful, and the tour is a great way to explore it, as you get to walk around quite a lot while learning about its history.
Ulrich is extremely knowledgeable and shared so much information throughout the tour, including lots of interesting details about the places we visited. I was impressed by how much he knew about the city and its history.
Bath is very walkable and many of the main sights are quite close to each other, but you still cover a good amount of ground during the tour, so be prepared to walk! Overall, it was a very interesting and informative way to discover the city.

Very through tour
Yuri did a very through job of the tour. He seemed to have a lot of knowledge to share. Disappointing that he did have any way to identify himself or the company. Given how much goes on out there not a good start. The tour mentions starting and stopping at the same place but when we reached the end time and we were nowhere close to the starting place he said I have another tour you can walk to this other place if you want. There were only 3 of us and it was hard to keep up with him. We got to the Jane Austen center and they said they were full. If this was part of the tour it was definitely a miss. Would have been good to know the route planned.

Hi
My name is Ulrich not Yuri
All in all not a fair comment.
After 2.1/2 hours walking it wouldn’t have been possible to walk another 1/2 hour to the starting point in this case .
The Jane Austen Centre can be overcrowded and full but this is clearly out of my control.
I am generally not mapping out all tour details in advance since I maintain a very off the beaten track itinerary and there are ‘copy cats’ in abundance.
I am a self employed Tour Guide and I do recall that I spoke to a member of the group how I started out .
Nevertheless I am glad that you seemed to still have enjoyed the tour.

The tour gave you a lot...
The tour gave you a lot of the history of Bath and took you past a lot of historical sites, but did not really give you much insight into the life of Jane Austin…what motivated her to write the stories she did, inspirations, what it was like to be a woman fighting to be financially independent in a man’s world, funny anecdotes about her life.
Operator response
Hi
You seemed to have had some expectations which move into categories outside the theme of this tour which focusses on Jane Austen’s life and time in Bath. However as you may have noticed there were quite extensive information given of the reasons and background why she did not have peace of mind in Bath to write any new novels and what she did instead etc etc So I would have loved to receive a bit of a fairer comment …..Anyway you seemed to have enjoyed the tour overall
