Great tour very intresting and very informative had a lovely Tour guide Denise
What a dreadful wet British Friday evening. It was perfect to wander around the backstreets of a very different London Town. The guide whose name escapes me, was dressed in an outfit which was of the time and really knew her subject. There wasn’t a thing she was asked that she couldn’t answer and you can tell she had a real depth of knowledge. The evening started with a very good quality fish and chips at Poppy’s. Then a five minute walk to the white hart pub to meet up with the tour. I was amazed that there were about 25 people on the tour and all could hear what was being said as the guide was wired up with a mic and speaker. At each stop she held up a tablet showing images of the victims (some were very graphic) which you were warned about before being shown. I was so impressed with the whole experience from the food to the tour it was brilliant. Do yourself a favour and book this tour. The guide is superb and the whole thing including the rain was perfect.
On Saturday 9th of August we went on the Jack the Ripper walk which included fish and chips at Poppies in Hanbury Street before the tour. The fish and chips were very nice, the staff were very friendly and Poppies has a great feel to it with its decor and ambience which had a feel of the 50’s and 60’s to it. As for the tour, it was brilliant. Having lived in London all our lives and being familiar with the ripper murders, it was a very entertaining, highly informative and most enjoyable tour. Our ripperologist/tour guide Lyndsay was superb. Lyndsay covered in great detail the murders, how Whitechapel was back in 1888, how Whitechapel has changed over the years and who the main suspects were. If you have Lyndsay as your guide, you will not be disappointed. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone who has heard of Jack the Ripper.
Thanks for the great review I will pass it on to Lindsay! She will be pleased!
Well organised and excellent informative tour, Lindsay Siviter was just amazing showing genuine and indepth knowledge
