The tour begins at Sami Port in Kefalonia, where you will board the ferry to Ithaca. Enjoy the short scenic crossing over the Ionian Sea as you approach the island, setting the tone for a day of history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes.
Our first stop is Vathy, the island’s capital. You’ll have free time to enjoy a coffee at the main square with the locals, wander through narrow streets, or visit the Folklore and Maritime Museum. As the legendary home of Odysseus, Ithaca is rich in Greek mythology and history.
Next, ascend to the Kathara Monastery, perched at the island’s highest point. Here, you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of Ithaca’s rugged hills, turquoise coves, and surrounding islands. Take time for photos and soak in the serene atmosphere of this historic monastery.
Head to the beautiful seaside village of Kioni, where lunch will be enjoyed at a traditional harbor-side tavern. Relax by the water, savor fresh local cuisine, and take in the breathtaking coastal scenery. Kioni’s waterfront setting and charming streets make it a perfect spot to unwind and capture memorable photos.
On our return journey, we pass through Frikes Harbour, offering beautiful views of this charming port as we sail back.
Visit the quaint village of Stavros, a place where time seems to have stood still. Wander through its peaceful streets, admire traditional stone houses, and experience the local charm. Highlights include the Church of Sotiras in the central square and the Stavros Archaeological Museum, which provides insight into Ithaca’s ancient past.

This is a great tour, was picked up on time and transported by bus on the ferry across to Ithaka. Our guide was very informative about Ithaka and the history of Odysseys. Ithaka is a beautiful island , very serene. We had a lovely lunch on Ithaka and was able to have some time to ourselves to do shopping and photo shoots.

We had a lovely time on this trip, we booked in the resort we where staying in Argostoli with the lovely Georgia who kept in contact with us and made sure we had all the relevant information for the lovely trip to Ithaca. The villages we stopped at were all very quaint and had enough time in each to have lunch or a coffee and souvenir shop. Would highly recommend the trip and if you are in Argostoli go and see the lovely Georgia near the main square.
