Itinerary
Departing Invergordon, we travel to our first stop of the day, Cawdor Castle. Set amid beautiful gardens in Nairnshire, Cawdor Castle is the ancestral home of the Campbells and dates back to the 15th Century. Spend time here exploring the castle and its picturesque surroundings.
From the Clava Cairns, our Invergordon shore excursion continues on to Dores Beach on the shores of Loch Ness for a quick photo and refreshment break, allowing you the opportunity for a quick bit of Nessie Hunting!
Our adventure then heads to Inverness; Capital of the Highlands. We spend over an hour here, plenty of time to enjoy lunch and walk along the banks of the River Ness and perhaps get some good views of Inverness Castle.
Glen Ord is the only remaining single malt whisky distillery situated in the Black Isle and is the home of Singleton Whisky. Enjoy a tour of the distillery, finishing off your Invergordon Shore Excursion with a tasting of the Singleton of Glen Ord 12 year old whisky.

Fiona was amazing as a guide. She was friendly, knowledgeable and made it a really fun day for all of us. We saw everything we wanted to see and she couldn't be more helpful. Can thoroughly recommend.
Tour had a bit of everything that we were looking for - great scenery driving through the Scottish Highlands, stops at a castle and Loch Ness. Fiona was very knowledgeable and super funny and she even stopped for us to look at some Highland cows because she knew that our kids loved them. So thoughtful and added just that little bit of attention. It was also half the cost of our cruise offered excursion and about twice as long. Pick up from the cruise terminal (just go outside and look for the green umbrella) and drop off were easy and efficient. I would recommend!
Hi there! Thank you so much for your kind review! We are so happy to hear that you had a great time on your Inverness Shore Excursion with Fiona! She really knows how to make a tour unforgettable with her amazing knowledge and fun sense of humour! We are so happy that you had such a good time seeing the highland cows, they are definitely a must see! We hope that we will see you again in the future! Best wishes, Elizabeth
The scenery was beautiful and van very comfortable. Marita qas an amazing tour guide. Highly recommended
What a great tour! The itinerary was great, but what made the tour incredibly wonderful was the tour guide Marita. Marita is personable, knowledgeable, organized, and fun. Highly recommend this tour!
Marita was an excellent guide. Everything was on time and our experience at the castle and distillery was perfect.
Good value, great bus and driver. It was the tour guides first day. She was nice and will get better.
Our driver was great and the saving grace for the tour. I have never heard “I’ve never been here” quite so many times from a tour guide. She hadn’t been to any of the attractions we stopped at.
Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the destinations and your driver. We're sorry your guide did not meet your expectations, and we'll share your comments with the team for review.
The places we visited were wonderful. Our problem was with Timberbush who the tour was outsourced to. First there was no directions on where to go when we came off of the boat or who to look for. Other tours we have done in other cities have said come out, turn right and look for guides with red hats. We had no directions and had to ask 3 different people before we found the correct location. The guide named Doreen that we were given had no knowledge of any of the locations we visited and provided little history on the area. She was very disorganized, stammered over words and kept dropping her water bottle. When we arrived at our first location she lead the group in the wrong direction of the entrance and then did not go to the entry desk to let them know our group was there and we were late. Those of us with Castle entry tickets had to go up and advocate for our group to get in. When we arrived at the distillery it was similar confusion. She is a nice person but definitely needed more training before being put out with a group. Our bus driver Andy was very knowledgeable and was often correcting her and actually took over giving us details of the area at times. I would recommend the places we visited but not the tour company it was outsourced to.

This was a fantastic tour! Doreen and Andy were both great guides throughout today’s journey from Invergordon. Thank you again!
Marita from Timberbush Tours led us on a wonderful tour in and around Inverness, with stops at Cawdor Castle, Loch Ness, and Glen Ord distillery. A well seasoned driver, she was unflappable and punctual. She filled our drive time with stories from local lore as well as pointing out the sights as we passed.
