Invergordon Cruise Excursion to Loch Ness and Outlander Sites

Description
This tour will take you through time just as Diana did with her Outlander storyline. We will discover together the inspiration she took from these special places right here in the Highlands. Breath-taking scenery, historical landmarks, famous lochs, castles, gardens and distilleries. This tour will give you a true Scottish Highland experience. Remember to take your camera… Not sure what a Sassannach is, come and find out :) Go Highlands only caters for small groups of up to 7 on our tours, which means you always get the absolute best experience.

Itinerary
Stones that date back around 4000 years (yes 4000) thats older than the pyramids... Touch the biggest one... thats what Claire did! I dare you :)
This is where series one ends... the Battle of Culloden, see the wee hoose Claire turns into a wee makeshift hospital then the lads use it to hide out. A solemn place, the last battle fought between Scots, Clans, English and even some Irish
Here you will also get fabulous views of Loch Ness and have a chance to go down to it’s banks in the hope of seeing the ‘Water horse’ which so entranced Claire Randall (or Nessie, as she’s better known around these parts!)
At this stop we will be taking some time to taste this award winning Gin.Taking its name from the fault line that divides the Highlands, our distillery sources natural and local ingredients to give you a little taste of our majestic surroundings. Great Glen is both Scotland's newest and, proudly, its smallest craft distillery. Harnessing the elements of a wild place, this smooth, earthy gin is a love letter to nature.
Urquhart Castle is probably one of the most photographed castles in Scotland, dating from around the 13th Century (But has settlement finds on the site dating back to prehistoric times.) It's position on the Loch provides the perfect backdrop for viewing and photographing Loch Ness (with or without the monster).
The Beautiful village of Beauly was where Claire and Jamie were heading to early in season one. Beauly Priory was a Valliscaulian monastic community located at "Insula de Achenbady", now Beauly, Inverness-shire. It was probably founded around 1230. It is not known for certain who the founder was, different sources giving Alexander II of Scotland or John Byset.

The whole experience was top notch; booking, pre-arrival, meet-up and tour. Our guide, Roger was accommodating, helpful and very knowledgeable. The weather was dismal at the start so he suggested a couple of anges which allowed us to spend part of our time together indoors and actually better than advertised. Roger is a hoot, funny, he has a way of bringing out the best of his guests. Not only did we learn so much about the area, he had ys interacting with the others in our group. Highly recommend this tour!!
Great cruise tour just the 8 of us Sarah our guide & driver was wonderful very knowledgeable. Loved seeing the coos & all the Outlander sites. Go Highlands was excellent. Great tour.
Excellent tour of Scottish Highlands! Very personal, only 4 of us on van. Tours were well marked coming off the ship. Sarah was an outstanding guide and gave us so much background info. As Outlander fans, Clava Cairns and Culloden battlefield were especially interesting. Highly recommend.
Best excursion ever! Sarah was so friendly, funny, and so knowledgeable! The small group was just perfect, and Sarah was able to tailor the trip to the guests' needs and wants.

Great tour with really interesting stories! Our guide, Sarah, was fantastic. We had plenty of time at each stop and it was very well organized.
George was great fun! Knowledgeable and entertaining! Great insider info, best the coaches to main attractions. Accommodated late cruise ship arrival. Took input from passengers. Prioritize remaining time well. Highly recommend. Max- 6 passengers on our mini bus.
Tour guide knowledgeable about the history. Spent a little too long in Clava Cairns.Retireme
Our tour guide, Sarah, picked us up & dropped us off at cruse port. She did an outstanding job & was extremely knowledgeable. It is a must do if in the area.
We loved this tour! Although it was a cold, rainy June day, it let us know how the locals feel there. Saw beautiful places, and learned a lot from our knowledgeable tour guide George, who also has a good sense of humor. I would hands down recommend it to anyone, and would take the tour again if traveling with a friend.
