Led by our farm's master beekeepers, you will learn the history of beekeeping in the Hawaiian Islands and the steps of making honey. Wear protective bee suits & gloves. Hold a frame from a live honey bee hive. Extract and taste farm honey. Taste different flavors of Hawaiian honey. Taste local season fruit & honey pairings. See a new side of the farm not visited on our cacao farm tour.

Important Information

- Please list the age of your child or children when making a reservation. We only allow children 9-13 years old.
- Farm visits require a tour reservation (we do not offer self-guided tours). Visit our tasting room in Kapaa town instead!
- Children tour fare is valid for kids 9-13 . We do not allow children under 9, including infants in carriers, as this experience is best suited for older children and adults. We invite families with younger children to visit our new Lydgate Chocolate Tasting Room in downtown Kapaa: now open Monday – Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Please no children under 9.
- Special Requirements: This outdoor farm tour includes walking and standing. You must be able to comfortably walk ~100 yards and stand for 15 minutes. You must also be able to put on a full body bee suit without assistance.
- Dress comfortably (you will be wearing a bee suit over your clothes)
- Wear closed-toe shoes (with calf-length socks). Sandals not recommended.
- Bring a water bottle and sunscreen.

A Sweet Experience We’ll Never Forget
The Bee Experience was one of the highlights of our trip. It was hands-on, educational, and surprisingly fun for both kids and adults. We learned so much about honeybees, got an up-close look inside a working hive, and even suited up to safely interact with the bees. The guides were knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about what they do. Our son was completely engaged from start to finish, and we all left with a much greater appreciation for bees and the important role they play. The fresh honey tasting at the end was the perfect finishing touch. If you’re looking for something unique, authentic, and memorable, I highly recommend the Bee Experience. It’s well worth the visit.

A must for nature lovers
Fantastic tour, equal parts educational and delicious! Our tour guides, Jess and Christine, were delightful. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in local agriculture, apiology, or nature in general.

Highly recommended!
I highly recommend this tour. Jess and Christine were wonderful and full of knowledge. They were both very passionate about caring for the bees. If you have never tasted honey straight from the hive, then you definitely need to do this tour!

Awesome experience with GREAT guides
Jess and Ronnie were our guides and are clearly passionate about the farm and bees but also about everyone enjoying the tour and getting what they want! There were so many offers for pictures, regular check in with an individual struggling in bee suit and general conversation and welcoming of questions. Eating honeycomb fresh from the frame and tasting honey is really a bonus.

We got to harvest a frame of honey and they gave us the honey in a little jar that is travel approved.

This was 11/10! Jess and Ronnie were LOVELY and taught us so much about hawaii, bees and the local plants. I would 100% do this tour and would love to do it again.
