Inca Trail 4-Day Trek to Machu Picchu – Return by Vistadome Train

Absolutely incredible experience with Alpaca Expeditions! The 4-day Inca Trail trek was truly the trip of a lifetime, and the entire team went above and beyond from start to finish. The FOOD was INSANE. Our chef Mario was absolutely amazing! I’m coeliac and lactose intolerant, and they were constantly checking in with me, making sure I had safe alternatives and that everything I was eating was safe. The meals genuinely felt like a five-course experience — the food just kept coming! I was blown away by how well they catered to the MANY different dietary requirements within our group while still making every meal absolutely delicious. Huge credit to Mario for making me feel so well looked after. The porters were incredible. It’s honestly unbelievable how quickly they move and everything they manage to do for you. They would pack everything up behind us, somehow fly past us on the trail, and still beat us to the next campsite — where they’d be completely set up and waiting to clap us in! Their hard work does not go unnoticed, and they were such an incredible part of the experience. Our guide, Hono, was fantastic. I genuinely couldn’t speak more highly of him. He was HILARIOUS, his English was perfecto, and he taught us so much about Inca culture and the history surrounding the trail. He was constantly checking that we had everything we needed (and more) and made the whole experience so much fun. And a special mention to Vanessa, who was unbelievably sweet and was always there cheering us on as we conquered each section of the trail. Having that encouragement along the way meant so much. Alpaca Expeditions says “The journey is the destination,” and after this trek, I couldn’t agree more. While reaching Machu Picchu was incredible, it was the people who made the journey truly unforgettable. The laughs, encouragement, kindness and care from the whole team are what I’ll remember most. This trip has become a core memory that I’ll carry with me forever. ❤️ 10/10 — would absolutely recommend. Truly the trip of a lifetime!

My husband and I hiked the Inca trail for 4 days with our 9 year girl. The guides were always attentive and made sure we had a great experience. The food was great and plentiful. The guides were very informative & knowledgeable. We will forever remember this adventure!

Spectacular trail with a very professional team of guides such as Juan Carlos Huillca, Abraham, and Reinaldo, all of them with a very well-defined role and very well complemented. l We just got back and I’m still speechless! Everything was absolutely perfect. From the very beginning the service was outstanding. The food was excellent — delicious, plentiful, and exactly what we needed after each day of trekking. I was truly impressed by the patience and care of the entire team during the hike. They supported us every step of the way and gave us such clear, fascinating explanations at all the INKA sites. You could tell how much they love sharing their culture. A special shoutout that one of the guides was a woman, Yadira! It was amazing to see a female guide leading with so much knowledge and strength. Cecilio’s lessons were also super interesting and added so much value to the trip. But the biggest praise goes to our guide, *Elis — always present, always attentive, always making sure everyone was okay and enjoying the experience. His energy and dedication made the whole trip. My friends have already asked me for the name of the tour and I will 100% recommend it to everyone, specifically mentioning these incredible guides! Excellent well run experience.

We did the 4 day-3 Night Inca trail this past week. It was such an incredible journey. First off our tour guides were Incredible. Onho, Edwin, Kenjo were awesome! They made the journey even more enjoyable and elevated the experience. The actual tour itself was informative and riveting. The hike is pretty tough but I felt that our tour guides made sure that we were properly taken care of. The porters were very nice and were hardworking making sure everything was taken care of. The food was very good especially breakfast and Lunch. My only complaint was the tent/ tent zippers were probably needing to be updated as a lot of them did not work properly. I would highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions!

It was a great experience! The food made by Melki was truly amazing, incredible how many different dishes he made. The guide, Bernie, and his assistant Marcos were both really nice! Bernie knows a lot about the Inca history and culture and tells about this in a fun way. The porters are really friendly as well. I would highly recommend alpaca expeditions for this tour :).
