Todd & Sirsa are fabulous hosts! This was an great personal tour ending with a FABULOUS fresh dungenous crab feast and delectable homemade cheesecake with fresh red huckleberry jam!

Join us for an Alaskan village tour and crab feast! Our locally owned and operated tour is your chance to form a deeper connection. We will teach you how we catch, cook, and crack our delicious local Alaskan dungeness crab. We will also take you around the village and to our favorite foraging spot to show you a little of how we survive and thrive in this remote paradise.
The first stop is the dock in the village of Hoonah. This is where we keep our commercial crabbing boat and our morning catch of crab. Pick out your fresh crab as we answer any questions you might have about Alaska commercial fishing and crabbing. We fish for pink salmon to use as bait for our commercial crabbing. All the gear is on board so we can give you a demonstration on how it works right at the dock.
The next stop is the deck over the water at Hoonah Beach House. This is just a quick stop to put our crab on ice for later, and maybe use the restroom if necessary. We will be returning to this location later for the crab feast!
The next stop is some forested private property just outside the village. We occasionally see coastal brown bears here, so have your camera ready. This is where Srisa and I pick the wild Alaska berries you will be enjoying in your dessert at the crab feast. We also have a small garden and orchard. We enjoy talking about what it takes to survive and thrive in our remote location.
Next, it's back to the village to see our friends at the carving shed. This is your chance to watch local Tlingit master carvers craft totem poles from yellow cedar logs.
The final stop is the deck at Hoonah Beach House for some fresh crab! The crab we iced down earlier is now ready to be cooked and prepared. Relax and watch as we show you the local way to cook crab. Most people have never tried crab fresh off the boat. Typically, crab shacks serve pre cooked, frozen and re-heated crab. Even the ones that advertise "fresh". Not us! This is the real deal, and you won't believe the difference. Most people tell us it's the best crab they have ever had.

Todd & Sirsa are fabulous hosts! This was an great personal tour ending with a FABULOUS fresh dungenous crab feast and delectable homemade cheesecake with fresh red huckleberry jam!
Great excursion. Todd brings you to his beach house, pick out live crabs from the fresh water. Cooked for lunch. Visit the village and Todd’s private area where he has a large workshop and vegetable garden. Don’t miss this fabulous excursion.
This was a wonderful experience. It was a small group. Todd and his wife Theresa were lovely hosts. Todd drove us around and we made stops in the village where they lived. He gave us so much interesting information about the Tinglet people and life in Alaska. It was very peaceful and beautiful out on the open deck where we had our crab feast. There were lovely, beautiful flowers all over and a beautiful wind chime not to mention just being able to hear the sound of the tide rolling in on the shore. The crab House restaurant in town was packed full of people when I passed it by earlier and yet we were able to have our own private little crab feast and a much more relaxing and beautiful environment with Todd’s tour. We also were able to see a bear on one of our stops. If you’re looking for something not touristy and really down to earth with some beautiful people and a wonderful meal, then this is it! I highly recommend this tour!
It was a very good and fun time! The couple are extremely friendly and the crab feast was absolutely delicious!!!
Absolutely a wonderful day, visiting with Todd and Srisa! He was friendly, knowledgeable and both were wonderful hosts and cooks! Really enjoyed our day with them and their priceless property! Their crab luncheon was excellent as well as the cheese cake!
Nice day with great hosts. Meal is not large but adequate but less than one crab per person. We did see a bear at the garden.
This is a husband and wife owned excursion. Very informative and friendly couple. The husband took us around on the tour and his wife cooked our meal including a wonderful dessert. 10/10 ! Definitely would recommend.
Small, personal absolute fantastic Todd and Teresa were fantastic. Great experience and Todd has a lot of knowledge about the area.. Meal was delicious.. Highly recommend.
This tour was nice. We watched him bring up the crab pots full of crabs, and his wife cooked us a very lovely meal. The negative part about this tour was that we were in a van and we had no microphone, so he really just spoke to whoever was sitting beside him. I would have liked to have heard a little history about the area we travelled in and maybe have him take us to some different spots around town and include everyone in his conversation. We had a about 30 minutes after our meal, where we just sat outside and talked to the fellow travellers. The weather was a bit chilly, and I felt the tour was a little bit longer than needed. Having said all this, I still think the tour was nice, and if you like crab, you'll get to eat a crab that's fresh out of the water.
Todd and his wife were excellent hosts. Their story is interesting. They have worked hard to establish a business to give tourists an excellent experience. It was wealth worth it and delicious. Would do it again.
