Ice Cave by Katla Volcano Super Jeep Tour from Vik

The answer is yes, yes the Ice Cave by Katla Volcano is definitely worth visiting! We would say that the entire experience from the jeep ride to walking up to the glacier and taking in the stunning scenery makes the excursion worth it. Plus our guide, Hawk, was fantastic!! He was funny and extremely knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning more about the glacier & the whole volcanic area. We also never felt rushed and he took great pics, too. In addition, we really enjoyed his music selection for the roundtrip drive! This is a tour that is a definite must if you are in Vik! It's also nice to leave the driving in capable hands!

The most incredible experience we’ve had in Iceland!!! The place is mesmerising, and the tour was an experience in of itself. It was a wonderful family trip (both our kids are teens so they handled the track well) and we’ve got beautiful photos as souvenirs. We are so thankful for having Edgar (he took the photo) as our guide! His expertise, advice and humor made this experience so much more wonderful! He greeted us with an amazing energy, guided the group thoughtfully, taking care of each member. We felt very safe, despite the weather not being ideal (‘tis the season). Such a wonderful place, thanks to nature, and a fun memorable experience, thanks to Edgar and Troll.is!!!

My family and I had a great time on this trip. Edgar is GREAT. Edgar was very knowledgeable and funny. Being out on the glacier was like being on another planet. Got plenty of great pictures, even one with Edgar. Would definitely book with Troll.is again. As soon as you check in, your guide starts making sure you are ready to have a great, safe trip.

Our tour today was great! Our guide, Beda, definitely added to the fun with his humor and optimistic motto “No problems, just solutions!” We were a mix of people in our 30s and 60s, and we would definitely say you need to be sure-footed, as much of the terrain is uneven. I highly recommend adding this tour to your trip and choosing the 7:30am time to avoid the crowds. It’s just a quick drive from Vík and is truly a must do. Although the weather wasn’t the best, it simply added another fun challenge and we still had an amazing time!
