Hydrobike Harbor Tour, Reef Snorkel & Private Island Beach Break

Alex was our driver. He spoke great English and took us from the cruise port to the hydro bikes, telling us all about the island along the way. There were some playful monkeys at the hydro bike facility. An experienced guide led us on the hydro bikes through environmentally protected mangro shorelines and told us all about the flora, fish and occasional facilities that we saw being constructed. We were able to jump off the bikes and enjoy the water in a protected cove. After returning to shore, we then joined five other passengers on a snorkeling expedition that launched from an adjoining dock. Our guide spoke good English and they took us out to the second largest reef in the world, along the edge where it drops off into an abyss. We snorkled for a full hour above the reef and followed our guide to a pick up location rather than circling back. We saw a tremendous amount of magical sea life and the reef was not suffering from bleaching. After snorkeling, we were taken to a resort beach, but immediately started missing the local immersion we had been enjoying, so we left early and joined our driver for a local lunch (treated him) made by the locally famous "Mister Eric" along the roadside. It was the perfect complement to our exploration of local ecology, people and traditions.

I can't say enough about this excursion!!! The staff was so kind and professional ensuring that everyone had fun and remained safe. The hydro bike ride in the bay was relaxing and beautiful! The bikes are safe and easy to ride. The reef was large and gorgeous!! The beach was a great way to end the outing. DO NOT miss this opportunity!!!!

You have to leave the port completely to get to the pickup location so it can be confusing, but once we got out there everything was taken care of. We found the driver, Alex, quickly and he was very friendly and informative. Once we got to the location, Josh was very helpful with teaching us how to use the hydrobikes. It was a fun experience that also included a break at a very beautiful beach. Thank you.

Victor and his Team were amazing! This excursion is one of our all time favorites and we will be back! The Hydrobikes were easy to maneuver even on a windy day. The harbor is beautiful and all the staff are knowledgeable and very accommodating. 10/10!! My husband and son especially enjoyed the snorkeling as one of their top experiences to date. I highly recommend this excursion.

The Hydro Bikes were very cool, and the snorkeling was simply amazing!!! But the best part of the excursion was our guide Victor. He was amazing and I would not do this excursion again without him as our guide. This was a 10 out of 10 for our family.

This was the perfect excursion! Started with hydrobiking, got to snorkel and see the barrier reef, ended relaxing on a beautiful beach with calm waters.

Dont think twice just book the excursion. Alex was so informative and made sure we got back to Port in time. Josh led us on the hydrobikes and was also a terrific tour guide. I Would definitely book this excursion again. The snorkeling was one of the best snorkeling tours I have ever been on. Can't give this tour enough stars!! Oh and the beach break was beautiful and relaxing.

We had a great time on this excursion. It was raining the day we went, but we were still able to do all of our activities. The bike ride was fun. We had our little five-year-old with us and she was able to sit between us on a double bike with her feet in the water and she really loved that part. The snorkeling experience was really wonderful our guide Lauren was fantastic and we saw so many beautiful fish throughout the water and the coral reef. Getting off the boat to find our excursion was a little hectic. Continue through the entire port and get out to the main street. It’s a little confusing, but once you get there and find your guide, you will be put at ease. All of the staff were very kind and everything was well organized. We had members running late for our tour, but instead of making us wait for them the company sent us ahead. We really appreciated that. The private beach was not so private, but we still had a great time. Everyone had places to sit and enjoy their lunch and drinks. If you plan on getting the specialty drinks, make sure you bring cash for those. They are sold by a different vendor and not the main restaurant on the island. Since we didn’t get the internet package on the cruise ship, we were concerned about meeting up with the excursion provider. But when we got off the ship and asked where we could locate the tour operator, we were directed to them by the other local tour operators, who were very helpful and friendly. Turned out we were the only ones signed up for the tour which was a bit concerning at first. Alex drove us from the ship dock to their facility explaining that this is the slow season for cruise ships in Roatan and that’s why we had the trip to ourselves. While they got the paddle boats ready he gave each of us one of the mangos from their trees after washing it off. It was amazing !! We chose the two person HydroBike to ride and it was perfect for us (we are in our 60s.) Josh took us riding around the bay for 30-45 minutes and after we docked we were taken next door to the snorkeling facility. We were given our gear and taken by boat out to the reef. The Turtle Man gave us a guided tour of the reef, showing us the corals and other marine life. It was a wonderful 30-45 minutes of exploring ! After snorkeling, we were dropped off on a small island that had a nice beach area with plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing. We ordered conch balls and mango daiquiris and relaxed until it was time to shuttle back to meet up with Alex, who took us back to the cruise ship. Absolutely wonderful day!

We were on a Carnival cruise and decided to add this excursion on short notice. I was a little hesitant to book outside of the cruise line but I'm glad I did. It was easily the best excursion of our vacation. The bikes, snorkeling, and beach time were all thoroughly enjoyed by us all. The tour operators were all so kind, accommodating, and personable. It was easy to find the tour meeting spot and we were back with ample time for boarding. 10/10 would recommend!
