Horseback Safari Tour

The first tip I give is: don't stay in this hotel. There is no difference between who stays and who spends the day. To get an idea, breakfast was included, but I was charged cappuccino coffee because it was made on the machine. I've never seen that! As for the activities, we made both available and there is nothing else to do. The ride is good, but we were put together with a family who was afraid to ride, which compromised the experience. As for the interaction with lions, and even if they are puppies, you can not touch them, but you can breastfeed those up to a month old, without grabbing them in the lap. To sum up, I took a few photos, so you can draw your own conclusions. . My first tip is: don't book this hotel. There's no difference between those who stay to sleep and those who spend the day. The horseback riding is good, but they paired us with a family who was afraid of horseback riding, which greatly compromised the experience. Regarding interaction with lions, even if they're cubs, you can't touch them, but you can bottle-feed those up to a month old without holding them. What an amazing end to our South Africa trip. I'm so glad I happened to stumble across this incredible place. Thea and Stefan really did everything to make sure we had the best stay possible. This horse form, which in addition to organizing horseback riding tours, is also devoted to research and wildlife education. We have learned a lot about lions and are so grateful to have been able to study these amazing animals up close for three hours. If you like animals, this really is a once in a lifetime experience!

The location of the property is very beautiful. Unfortunately it is absolutely poorly maintained, dirty and decadent. A dump. In the true sense of the word. Rat poison spread everywhere and especially near kitchens. The concept of cleanliness is absolutely unknown. The rooms are small and dirty. Everything to do again. The wild life tour is overall pleasant. Unfortunately the care for animals is very poor. Small and dirty cages. In Italy such a place would be closed immediately.

The safari on horseback was also so successful and impressive because we felt welcome and in good hands at all times. We have seen zebras, impalas and other animals you would never get so close to otherwise. Great!

We visited Horseback Africa for the second time. This location is very versatile and educational. We participated in the lion excursion, during this excursion a lot is told about the welfare of the lion, poaching and reproduction. Then we enjoyed the surroundings by horse and saw a lot of wildlife. This place is highly recommended for those who love nature. The staff are super friendly and welcoming.

Thank you to the team at Horseback Africa. My wife and I had an amazing time with you. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable and the food is amazing. We did the early morning horseback safari and in all my life I have never experienced anything like it. You get so close to the game that it feels like you can reach out and touch the animals. We stayed in the Bushmans cottage and what an amazing experience indeed. At night one experiences the peacefulness of the bush and you awake in the mornings to the game and horses grazing close by. The lion and serval interaction is one of those experiences that really puts you in touch with some of our big cats. Taking a walk in the veld with the lion cubs is certainly a unique experience. For such a short drive from the East Rand, it certainly does make one feel that you are in the heart of the bush. And for a nature lover like myself, I cannot ask for more. If you are looking for a unique getaway with amazing experiences, this most certainly should be at the top of your list. Hannes Naude

Incredibly friendly staff, great views and interaction with wild life! Was my first time riding and absolutely loved it!

We spent the day at the park having travelled out from Johannesburg at 6.30. We had a 2 hour safari on horseback, we were not experienced riders but were put on superbly schooled horses and Marie was an excellent tour guide and leader. We then had a very good lunch followed by 2 hours with lions ranging from 1 month to 10 months. The elk with the 10 month olds was unbelievable! Looking at the film we took it is hard to believe. The work they do for conservation, breeding etc is just so worthwhile and we were happy to be able to support the programme. A MUST DO.

I had a great time on this trip, the horse riding experience was marvelous and the swim in the crystal clear sea water at macaneta beach was so refreshing. Thanks to trip advisors, Karina and her colleague.

My friends and I came to horseback Africa as a group activity, and we were definitely not disappointed! Connie matched us perfectly with our horses, she really has an eye for it. The guides were absolutely incredible, they made sure we wet safe and happy the entire ride, they were also very insightful about all the animals we saw on the way! The trail itself was breathtaking, the views were beautiful and there were so many adventures along the way. A perfect ride for a beginner or expert. I highly recommend it 😊
