Fantastic experience for beginners
This excursion was so fabulous. The views were gorgeous, the food was fantastic, and the guides were great. I had basically never ridden a horse before, but I got the hang of it quickly. They give you a quick instruction on how to ride, but for the most part the horse knows how to horse and just follows the one in front of it. You ride for about 2 hours, which flies by. Sitting around the fire with a stomach full of asado listening to Diego play guitar after a fun ride is one of my favorite travel memories.

The ranch is located quite...
The ranch is located quite close to the city. The horses were very well trained and Diego was attentive to our needs. The food was what one can expect from a parrilla at a ranch.

Perhaps better with a bigger group.
Pro: short drive from Mendoza. Beautiful views. Held the tour with just the two of us.
Room for improvement: when booking they said they’d pick us up in Chacras de Coria but at noon day of, told us we needed to Uber into Mendoza which adds another 25.000 to the cost. Also at noon asked if we could reschedule to the next day because we were the only two- we had plans so could not move the day. Once we arrived, they did not really attempt to talk to us (we speak Spanish) and I felt like they were just trying to get the tour done with. My horse was slow and I was made to feel like it was my fault. The asado was good but they put the food on the table and walked away. No campfire, no music.
Perhaps if there was a bigger group we would have had a different experience.
We still enjoyed the views but could have been better.

Operator response
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback Guys. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations.
Regarding the sunset, the tour is named "Sunset Ride" because it takes place during the sunset hours, allowing guests to enjoy that special time of day while horseback riding. Depending on the season, weather conditions, and the pace of the group, the sunset may be viewed from different points of the ride rather than from a fixed viewpoint.
We are also sorry to read your comment about the lack of conversation with the leader. Maggie was the guide accompanying your group, and she is a highly professional and friendly member of our team. We consistently receive excellent feedback about her from our guests. For that reason, we understand that your comment may be referring to Diego, the owner of the ranch.
While Diego is present on most of our tours, he is not able to join every ride, as we work with a team of experienced guides who help us deliver the experience and ensure that every tour runs smoothly.
During the ride itself, it can be difficult for the guides to continuously converse with all guests, as one guide usually rides at the front leading the group while another stays at the back supervising the horses and ensuring everyone's safety. However, we always make time to interact with our guests before and after the ride.
We also hope that you enjoyed the traditional Argentine barbecue served after the ride.
Thank you again for your feedback.
We appreciate every comment, as it helps us continue improving the experience we offer to our guests.

Sunset Tour. Five stars.
We are a group of 8 friends visiting Mendoza from the United States. We had an amazing time with Gaucho Estates on the sunset horseback ride.

Amazing!
Highly recommend! The trek along the mountains was gentle and beautiful. I had never ridden a horse before but they were great and kind teachers and I felt comfortable on the horse. The horses were calm and the ride was very peaceful. The dinner and then singing around the campfire at night was a great touch and felt very special.

Mendoza Trip Highlight! 5 Stars!
This was such a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to everyone traveling in Mendoza! We were so impressed by the care and hospitality from Diego and the gauchos in this experience. They clearly take great care of the horses, and the evening dinner with a surprise singalong / guitar hangout by the fire was such a highlight. The terrain was beautiful and the 2 hours riding was the perfect amount of time to see the valley. Thank you to Diego and team for being a highlight of our trip!

A bit too much for a beginner
Diego and all the staff at gaucho estate were super friendly and the bbq and music playing around the campfire was really amazing. It was generally a well organised trip. The horse riding for me however as a real beginner was a bit too tricky on the rocky paths and I would have preferred if they gave us helmets. I found the group size a bit too big to feel like I could get lots of close help with my horse when needed.

Excellent horses and they cater the ride to your ability. Delicious BBQ.
We LOVED our ride with Gauco Estate. We booked last minute and had very responsive correspondence over WhatsApp. Diego was clearly very proud of his horses and was telling us all about them. Most importantly for us, they catered to the riding capability of the group, and we were able to do some faster riding away from the main group with more spirited horses as we have riding experience. Those with less/no experience still seemed to have a safe, fun ride in the larger group. All the team were very friendly and helpful, with a great BBQ and gaucho style serenade at the end of the day. It was nice to get a little taste of the gaucho culture and the set up is very sociable for you and other guests. Exceeded our expectations!!
